Jujutsu Kaisen might be over, but its effects continue to be felt across the globe. Its unique roster of characters wowed fans and succeeded in leaving a lasting impression on countless. Among the many faces, the antagonist of the series, Ryomen Sukuna, has received immense love from the fandom.

His character as a whole and the techniques he possesses dazzled disciples of Gege Akutami's series. In particular, Sukuna's Domain, Malevolent Shrine, has been especially popular. As such, fans have begun to link it to real life through a piece of art, the Knife Angel, by artist Alfie Bradley and the British Ironworks Centre.

Fans have linked the Knife Angel statue in England to Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine in an intriguing way. English artist Alfie Bradley created the Knife Angel in conjunction with the British Ironworks Centre (Oswestry, England). It took about four years to complete, from 2014 to 2018.

The Knife Angel was created to underscore knife crimes in the UK and to create awareness amongst youngsters about knife violence. The 27-foot tall sculpture, containing nearly 100,000 knives, cost about £500,000 and was created using weapons confiscated by the police. Alfie invited families afflicted by knife crimes to engrave messages onto the blades.

Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine functions akin to slashes by a blade. When trapped in it, he unleashes his Shrine techniques, Dismantle (his default ranged slashing attack, which he uses against Cursed Spirits and sorcerers with great efficiency) and Cleave (a self-adjusting slashing attack that calibrates according to the target's strength and Cursed Energy level).

Integrating these two, some Jujutsu Kaisen fans felt that Malevolent Shrine would be recreated if a tornado hit the statue's location. Similar to the countless flurry of slashes unleashed during Sukuna's Domain, the knives from the statue could be forced off it and glide through strong gusts of wind. This is quite an intriguing take and not far off from Malevolent Shrine when looked at closely.

As seen in the manga, during the Gojo Satoru vs Ryomen Sukuna fight, Gojo faced a never-ending barrage of slashes that cut through the surrounding area. The Domain becomes deadlier due to the slashes that adapt to the target. Moreover, continuously being cut by Dismantle and Cleave does not give Sukuna's opponent the appropriate time and means to react/retaliate.

Hopefully, no tragedy such as this will come to pass. In case a tornado hits, one can take action to ensure safety. First and most crucial, heed warnings and evacuate. Immediately going underground (basement, storm shelter, etc.) is the best option. If that is unavailable, one must avoid trees, vehicles, glass windows/doors, etc., and find a gully to lay in while protecting their head.

Final thoughts

Knife Crime is a serious concern in the UK. Those who have lost loved ones to this have suffered great losses. It is no laughing matter, and authorities continue to work on dealing with the matter in the best way possible, aiming to stop it completely.

While there is considerable road to travel to clamp down on knife crimes entirely, progress has been made and is being made every day. As for the topic at hand, the statue is as impressive as it is symbolic. Jujutsu Kaisen fans likely mean their statements in the most harmless way possible and with no intention to harm anyone. However, this is a sensitive matter and must be dealt with carefully.
