Garp impales the Blackbeard Pirates with his Galaxy Impact in One Piece episode 1114
One Piece episode 1114, titled "For the Beloved Pupil, The Fist of Vice Admiral Garp," picked off with Garp and SWORD infiltrating Hachinose Island to save their comrade from the claws of Blackbeard.
After saving Koby from a bunch of pirates, Hibari urged him to run away as soon as possible, confusing Koby about what was about to happen. Strangely, all the pirates were trapped in the middle of the island as they felt like something bad was about to happen to them.
Prince took notice of the situation and informed the ship that Koby had been retrieved. Tashigi gave Vice Admiral Garp the cue that his apprentice had been saved and the Vice Admiral pushed the ship on top of the island. After he reached on top, he called out the pirates who kidnapped their captain and Garp's apprentice.
The Vice Admiral then stepped forward, showcasing his Conqueror's Haki aura, and packed the punch which contained his advanced Armament Haki and Conqueror's Haki, hitting the pirates on Hachinose Island with an unrealistic power blast called the Galaxy Impact. The impact not only destroyed a chunk of the island, it also sent hundreds of pirates flying away.
Reactions from the fandom
Fans gushed over One Piece episode 1114 because of Garp's move against the Blackbeard Pirates. Some fans even went as far as claiming that Garp's Galaxy Impact was the best-animated punch in One Piece, comparing it to the likes of Luffy's Red Hawk and Red Roc.
Fans couldn't stop singing the praises of the Vice Admiral and claimed that despite being an old man, he is still one of the strongest characters in the series. Fans also understood why Roger called for Garp because the Vice Admiral was at least a competition to fight against the Pirate King.
"Best animated punch in one piece anime history," a fan said.
"Roger knew what he was talking about when he said to bring Garp or Sengoku if you wanna catch him. Prime Garp must've been a whole nother beast," another fan claimed.
"It's so peak.." another one said.
Fans also realized why the Vice Admiral was a terror for the pirates all around the Grand Line because in his calm, he is just an old man, but when angered, it is advised to stay away from him. Some fans were surprised how a weekly anime's animation was so good.
"Now realize why prime garp is nightmare for all pirates" a fan claimed
"Actually incredible, a weekly anime is really giving us so much peak," another one claimed.
There was also a misconception among a part of the fandom about the colors of Garp's Galaxy Impact. When the fight was featured in the manga, a fan animation showed Galaxy Impact's colors as purple. However, as this was a fan-animation, not an official source, purple was not the official color of his impact.
"It is so much different to what a lot of us expected. I thought it was supposed to be purple like this fan animation," another fan said.
Final thoughts
Haki is one of the most potent power-ranking systems in anime as it features the individual's energy, which sometimes they don't even know the potential power. This energy is also affected by emotions and love for the individual's loved ones, a prime example of which was Garp's Galaxy Impact featured in One Piece episode 1114, which had his rage behind it for kidnapping the pupil he spent so many years to strengthen.
