The Naruto series and its place within the Big Three have been prominent topics of discussion within the anime fandom ever since the series ended and was followed by the release of the Boruto series.

While recent entertainment media and video games have regularly referenced anime and other shows, references tied to Masashi Kishimoto's story have grown scarce. However, Clash of Clans referencing the series in the teaser for their latest update has sent the fans of the series into an absolute frenzy.

Clash of Clans references Naruto in its latest update

Recently, Clash of Clans teased the arrival of their new hero skins with a visual that referenced one of the most iconic locations within the series. Given the recent fall in popularity and relevancy, many fans of the series have mentioned how this further proves that this series still holds its position within the Big Three while being remembered by people all around the world.

While the post simply teased the arrival of the new hero skins, many fans have mentioned how this might directly be teasing a future collab as well.

Fan reactions to the Clash of Clans post

Many fans took the opportunity to mention how the reference is too direct and further proves that Masashi Kishimoto's series is one of the most influential to come out in the last two decades. Some fans also noted how Clash of Clans recognizes the peak of anime in Masashi Kishimoto's series.

"Clash of clans knows peak," one fan said.
"And people will say Naruto isn't the most influential anime ever lol," another fan said.

A few fans took the opportunity to mention how being referenced by one of the most popular games on the planet further validates the series' position as the face of the Big Three.

"Naruto proving once again why it's a big face of anime," another fan mentioned.
"The Naruto fandom loves CoC," another fan claimed.

Another fan mentioned how similar collaborations with One Piece and Bleach, the other two of the Big Three series, do not happen often and do not gain the same popularity. Although recent anime fans continue to slander this series, collaborations like this further prove that it is indeed the best series out of the three.

"You don't see Bleach of One Piece getting referenced in this way. Further proves that Naruto is the best of them all, imagine continuing a story of over 20 years and not getting any such collab." Another fan said.

Masashi Kishimoto's series has seen a drop in popularity due to the recent releases and anime adaptations of series like Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and My Hero Academia, all of which have managed to become phenomena within the anime fandom. But given the fact that Masashi Kishimoto's series has also received the TMNT collaboration and is now being referenced in Clash of Clans, it is possible that it will soon rise to mainstream popularity again.
