By mentioning a deceased Jujutsu Kaisen female character, creator Gege Akutami has seemingly thrown fans into a pit of confusion. The spoilers for the upcoming chapter 263 recently released and with it came an intriguing comment by the author mentioning a certain character.

The character being spoken of here is reincarnated sorcerer and Culling Games player, Yorozu. As far as memory serves, Yorozu was last seen battling Ryomen Sukuna in the Sendai Colony during the Culling Games. However, Sukuna was too mighty as Yorozu faced defeat and subsequently perished.

Akutami making a sudden mention of her is quite interesting, given the timing and series of events.

As mentioned, the spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 263 brought with them a puzzling comment by the author. Gege Akutami's comment with the chapter 263 spoilers were roughly translated to be:

"I forgot whether or not I explained here why Yorozu couldn't heal by reincarnating."

At first glance, the comment might be ordinary as the author may have made a note of it early on and forgot about it. However, considering Akutami's track record, there is defintely more to this than what meets the eye. Looking back, this Jujutsu Kaisen female character received limited screen time.

Yorozu's vessel was Megumi Fushiguro's sister, Tsumiki. This is what made Sukuna target her. The story revealed a bit about her Heian Era self before cutting back to the present. Yorozu's one-sided fascination with the Demon King in a way led to her demise.

She wanted to alleviate his loneliness with her love by killing him. But that didn't go well as Sukuna proved too strong.

During her final moments, she left Sukuna with a parting gift - replica of Kamutoke, a weapon the latter used during the Heian Era. That was all for this Jujutsu Kaisen female character. Considering Akutami's comment, quite literally anything could happen here, given the bizzare yet nail-biting twists the author has added so far.

But even so, her role was fulfilled (Sukuna taking her, i.e., Tsumiki, down to completely break Megumi). As for the comment, Akutami has previously stated that Yorozu's face hadn't changed, so she couldn't repair her flesh through transformation/reincarnation.

As odd as it might be, one sole reason comes to mind for this particular Jujutsu Kaisen female character to return is to kill Sukuna herself. But there are two possibilities here - first, she joins Team Jujutsu High and waits to land the killing blow or second, she sides with Sukuna, beats Team Jujutsu High and then crushes a majorly weakened Demon King.

Final thoughts

Creator Gege Akutami mentioning this specific Jujutsu Kaisen female character out of all the others has definitely raised a lot of eyebrows. More specifically, referring to her at this point of time, where Sukuna seems to be backed against a wall, could be a hint to something.

As per the spoilers, Yuta and Toge Inumaki's cleverly concocted plan looks to have worked quite well. With Sukuna immobile thanks to Cursed Speech, Yuta/Gojo is nearly ready to fire off Hollow Purple.

Fans of the series already know this technique's destructive power and landing it on Sukuna now would be crucial.

But with a mention of Yorozu like this, Akutami might be cooking up yet another mind-bending twist which only time will reveal.
