As Jujutsu Kaisen fans might remember, fan-favorite character Satoru Gojo passed away in chapter 236. Since then, fans have been hoping for the character to make a dramatic return. Unfortunately, all such hopes were shattered once Yuta Okkotsu took over the strongest sorcerer's body using Kenjaku's innate cursed technique.

Thus, fans were left distraught that they would never get to see Satoru Gojo back in action. That's when they found one draft sketch of Gojo drawn by manga creator Gege Akutami. While one would hope for new content on a character to make fans happy, the sketch was more sinister than anyone would have imagined.

Jujutsu Kaisen: What made Akutami's draft sketch for Gojo sinister?

As seen in the above tweet, manga creator Gege Akutami's draft sketch for Satoru Gojo seemed more sinister than the finished product. This is because the difference between the rough draft and the final product was night and day.

While the finished illustration for Gojo was drawn to depict his death at the expense of Ryomen Sukuna's World Cutting Slash, the rough draft made it seem like the character was going through some troubling internal struggle.

As fans may have seen in other media, distorted drawings are often used to depict someone who is struggling with psychological issues. Given how Gojo's draft sketch was all over the place, fans were left horrified of what Akutami could have gotten Shueisha to publish had he wanted to do it.

How fans reacted to Akutami's draft sketch of Gojo's death

There is an ongoing theory amidst the Jujutsu Kaisen community that Gege Akutami hates Satoru Gojo, which is why the creator got him sealed away and later killed him off to avoid drawing him.

With respect to that, fans felt certain that manga creator Gege Akutami must have wanted to make his fans feel miserable by getting publication company Shueisha to release the draft sketch. However, the editors must have intervened and forced the manga creator to finish the artwork.

"I know Gege wanted to release the first panel as the final version but the editors didn’t let it happen," one fan said.
"Gojo is in depression in first panel," another fan said.

Other fans were focused on how Gojo looked in the draft sketch. While one fan expressed how Gojo looked depressed in the artwork, another pointed out how the character was missing his hair in the same sketch.

"He don’t even have hair," another said.
"Crazy ow this is one of geges most detailed and best drawn panels," other fan expressed.

Meanwhile, other fans were left amazed by what they were witnessing. Many fans arguably believed that Satoru Gojo's death scene illustration was one of the most detailed artworks by manga creator Gege Akutami. Thus, it was surprising to them how the illustration's first draft sketch looked so sinister.
