The Shinjuku Showdown arc starts with the "Battle of the Strongest" between Satoru Gojo and Ryomen Sukuna. This was a historic event that took place on December 24, 2018, in abandoned Makyo Shinjuku. Gojo, labeled as the strongest sorcerer of the modern era, clashed with Sukuna, the strongest sorcerer in history, to determine the course of the world of jujutsu.

The battle witnessed both sorcerers unleash their most powerful techniques: Gojo's Limitless technique and Domain Expansion, Unlimited Void, while Sukuna engaged him with his Malevolent Shrine. However, Sukuna managed to keep up with and adapt to Gojo's techniques and then continued to make an intense assault, which became very overwhelming for the latter.

The battle ended when Sukuna's Mahoraga adapted to Gojo's Infinity, which allowed Sukuna to deliver a finishing blow. In the end, Sukuna wins the fight and kills Gojo.

2) Iori Hazenoki vs. Kenjaku

In Jujutsu Kaisen, the battle between Iori Hazenoki and Kenjaku takes place in the final stages of the Culling Game at Lake Gosho Colony. Kenjaku reaches the location, meaning to kill the remaining players to conclude the event, and he crosses ways with Iori Hazenoki. Fully aware that Kenjaku has come on the mission to do so, Iori tries to ward him off despite being cut off from any assistance.

To hold off Kenjaku's summons, he uses his cursed techniques, detonating a tooth and attacking with his eye. However, it is soon shown through strategic advantages in attacking Iori's head so he cannot heal, and explaining how he wants to merge Japan into Tengen by ending the Culling Game.

Despite resistance and defiance from Iori, Kenjaku proves superior and presses the attack relentlessly. Kenjaku won the fight and killed Iori Hazenoki.

3) Fumihiko Takaba vs. Kenjaku

Fumihiko Takaba had gotten into the most dramatic pre-event buildup of Gojo's fight with Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen. On December 24, Kenjaku was determined to reunite the people of Japan with Tengen, and he fought Takaba in the Lake Gosho Colony.

First, Takaba was under way too much pressure from Kenjaku's cursed spirits; he survived, though, managing to impress Kenjaku with his resilience. Kenjaku later learned that Takaba's weird cursed technique actually fed on a comedian's confidence.

4) Kenjaku vs. Yuta

During Fumihiko Takaba vs. Kenjaku in Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuta Okkotsu showed up out of nowhere. Taking advantage of Fumihiko's distraction, Yuta clashes with Kenjaku, katana in hand, without holding anything back.

Kenjaku attempts to use his Antigravity System, but Yuta swiftly decapitates him. Kenjaku realizes the sorcerers planned his defeat as Fumihiko was sent to conceal Yuta's cursed energy. Eventually, Yuta defeats him.

5) Sukuna vs. Hajime Kashimo

The battle between the God of Lightning, Hajime Kashimo, and the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, comes just after Satoru Gojo's defeat in Shinjuku. Kashimo faces Sukuna with a backup from Hakari, who pins down Uraume so that he does not get involved in the fight.

Sukuna shoots lightning with Kamutoke, thanks to the cursed tool being adapted for this very reason. However, Kashimo simply resists. The power of Mythical Beast Amber allows him to change his body and handle electricity.

However, despite Kashimo's relentless attack, Sukuna, in his true form, overpowers Kashimo. Sukuna counters Kashima's electricity with his Dismantle technique, which causes Kashima to have a grave injury.

Sukuna talked about strength in his final conversation with Kashima before he attacked him with the final blow. In the end, Sukuna defeats Kashima, who dies as the next battle looms with Yuji Itadori.

6) Kinji Hakari vs. Uraume

In the Jujutsu Kaisen Shinjuku Showdown arc, Kinji Hakari clashes with Uraume in fierce combat. It started when Uraume launched a big block of ice at Sukuna, but Hakari jumped in between them.

Hakari, an immensely strong fellow capable of mastering cursed energy in such a manner, activates his Domain Expansion: Idle Death Gamble, giving him temporary invincibility if he wins the gamble. Uraume performs an Ice Formation Technique by manipulating the ice with experience and efficiency.

Although Uraume fights with great skill and control, Hakari's resilience and overpowering shift the tide. Finally, Hakari managed to stall Uraume, who later hanged himself following Sukuna's defeat.

7) Sukuna vs. Hiromi Higuruma and Yuji

The fight between Sukuna and Hiromi Higuruma saw Higuruma use his Domain Expansion-Deadly Sentencing to try Sukuna for the massacre of Shibuya. He sentenced Sukuna to "Confiscation" and "Death Penalty," taking away Sukuna's cursed tool but not his Cursed Technique. However, Sukuna reversed that in a flash by showing an overwhelming power.

He then tried to counter it using Domain Amplification and his Executioner's Sword, but the brutal attacks from Sukuna that cut off Higuruma's limbs put him at a great disadvantage. Higuruma, though Yuji assisted him for a moment and was in the upper hand, ended up sacrificing himself for Yuji to get ready for a last attack in Jujutsu Kaisen.

8) Sukuna vs. Yuta (Part 1)

In this fierce and dramatic confrontation between Yuta Okkotsu and Ryomen Sukuna, Yuta charges forward with his determination and the cursed spirit Rika against the King of Curses.

Sukuna, thrown into a building by Rika, exchanged contact in a life-or-death situation as both faced their fate. Yuta tries to overpower Sukuna with his katana and unleashes his Domain Expansion: Authentic Mutual Love.

However, at the same time, Sukuna responds with Hollow Wicker Basket and sends Yuta's technique into null. Yuta gets defeated by Sukuna's brutal counterattack despite Yuta's great effort in Jujutsu Kaisen.

9) Sukuna vs. Maki Zenin

Maki Zenin and Ryomen Sukuna clash when Kusakabe and Ino devise a tightly calculated maneuver. While Yuta and Yuji are fighting Sukuna inside the Domain, Maki is supposed to suddenly strike when Yuta gives her the signal by breaking part of the barrier. So the time comes when Maki advances toward Sukuna, who shortly realizes it is a feint.

Sukuna fights back with brutal intensity after being weakened from the previous injury inflicted by the Split Soul Katana. The fight spills into Shinjuku, where Maki is nimbly dodging Sukuna's attacks.

Even with backup from Ino and Kusakabe, Maki is outnumbered. Sukuna delivers a powerful Black Flash in order to prove the difference in their powers. He wins the fight and leaves Maki badly wounded in Jujutsu Kaisen.

10) Sukuna vs. Takuma Ino

In the fight in Jujitsu Kaisen's Shinjuku, when Yuta and Yuji fought Sukuna inside the Authentic Mutual Love domain, Atsuya Kusakabe and Takuma Ino were in the outer field. Kusakabe explained the plan to him, saying all sorcerers would scatter to avoid blind spots and that Maki Zenin would attack Sukuna once Yuta had weakened a portion of the barrier.

While Maki fought Sukuna, Takuma Ino tried to intervene by firing shots at Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen. Sukuna simply countered it fast with multiple slashes and further kicked Ino out of the building. Despite Ino’s efforts, Sukuna anticipated the move and easily neutralized him.

11) Sukuna vs. Atsuya Kusakabe

In the battle against Ryomen Sukuna, Kusakabe opens his Simple Domain and, with his Evening Moon Sword Drawing technique, beats Sukuna's long-range slashes in Jujutsu Kaisen. His swift and precise strikes momentarily surprise Sukuna, allowing Kusakabe to land a few hits and momentarily stun the King of Curses.

Despite Kusakabe's breathtaking pace and agile swordplay, Sukuna sends him flying with his brutal energy in no time. Sukuna breaks Kusakabe's katana and lays a fierce counterattack on him, leaving him with serious injuries, bleeding out. Just before Sukuna could land the finishing move, Ui Ui teleports Kusakabe to safe shores, saving him from sure death.

12) Sukuna vs. Miguel and Larue

After freeing Ui Ui and Kusakabe in Jujutsu Kaisen, Miguel and Larue turn to face Sukuna in Shinjuku. Larue convinces Miguel to go against Sukuna, knowing his infamous brute strength. The two former partners of Suguru Geto activate their cursed techniques to clash with Sukuna in close combat. Despite Sukuna being in a weaker state compared to his stronger form, they can barely keep up with his onslaught of attacks.

Sukuna manages to land a Black Flash on Larue in such a way that instantly restores his reverse cursed technique output; the tide is now in his favor. He follows it up with a barrage of Black Flashes that overwhelm Larue and Miguel and even other fighters like Maki and Choso.

13) Sukuna vs. Yuji (Part 1)

In the first part of Sukuna and Yuji's fight in Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji holds his own against Sukuna in close combat and successfully dodges and counters Sukuna's attacks. The moment Larue takes Sukuna's attention away, Yuji seizes the opportunity and unleashes an extremely powerful Black Flash. Yuji enters into his newly awakened cursed technique-Shrine-which enables him to follow up with multiple successive Black Flashes.

For the first time, these hits caused substantial damage to Sukuna and drove the King of Curses to the limit. Sukuna executes his Malevolent Shrine Domain, and everything gets destroyed everywhere in Shinjuku, even with Yuji's successive attacks.

Yuji and his friends use Simple Domain against Sukuna's attacks. Yuji gets seriously wounded and fighting goes into a new phase as Sukuna introduces a potent fire technique.

14) Sukuna vs. Yuta (Part 2)

The heated rematch between Sukuna and Yuta in Jujutsu Kaisen suddenly took a sharp turn as Yuta could finally switch his brain with Gojo's body, catching Sukuna off guard. Things escalated further as the two fighters began engaging in their Domain Expansions, with Yuta using Unlimited Void and Sukuna utilizing Malevolent Shrine, thus setting up a high-stakes confrontation.

Their domains were contracted to the minimum possible size, making it a very hazardous fight. Further, Sukuna's Domain Amplification heightens the chaos as he manhandled Yuta.

Where Yuta employed Gojo's Limitless technique and his game plan with Toge Inumaki's Cursed Speech, Sukuna outwitted him through his superior strategy and adjustments to take the lead. Sukuna gained the upper hand in this fight and defeated Yuta in this most fierce battle.

15) Sukuna vs. Aoi Todo

In the fierce fight between Sukuna and Aoi Todo, Todo revealed his enhanced cursed technique, using a vibraslap that could execute the swap up to 50 times per second in Jujutsu Kaisen. That was all about speed-dance tactics to confuse Sukuna and make him open to the other sorcerers.

As planned with Mei Mei, Todo's tactic intends to use these swaps to rescue sealed sorcerers from Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine. With the fight, Todo synchronized with Yuji so that Yuji could provide Sukuna with his much-needed Black Flash attack.

In the fierce rematch between Sukuna and Yuji, Sukuna used Hollow Wicker Basket to defend himself until he got back his cursed techniques. Despite Sukuna's great power and anger, Yuji took advantage of the moment when Megumi's lingering soul interfered with Sukuna's balance.

Taking this advantage, Yuji made a violent attack against Sukuna with the help of Megumi's presence when the King of Curses prepared his Domain Expansion.

Sukuna then takes the opportunity to use Gojo's technique of regeneration on himself and prepares for a counterattack upon seeing Yuji's injured arm. As Yuji enervates, having spent all of his curse energy, he summons what little energy is left inside his body to make a final attack.

Yuji then summons all his remaining body energy instantly to create a powerful Black Flash uppercut to Sukuna's stomach, finally defeating the King of the Curses, Sukuna.
