Studio Ufotable has announced a trilogy for the Demon Slayer anime series, promising to bring the epic story to a thrilling conclusion. The Infinity Castle arc— the final arc of the series— delivers intense and dramatic confrontations as the Demon Slayers face their greatest challenges yet.
Following this, the Sunrise Countdown arc will conclude the series, building on the relentless battles and emotional sacrifices seen in the Infinity Castle. As the story reaches its climax, the Hashira and the other Demon Slayers engage in pivotal fights that test their resolve and skills against the formidable demons of the upper ranks.
Demon Slayer: All fights that took place in Infinity Castle
1) Shinobu Kocho vs Doma
As Doma consumes his female disciples in the Infinity Castle, he notices Shinobu and expresses delight. A disciple begs Shinobu for help, but dies before her eyes. Angered, Shinobu attacks Doma, seeking revenge for her sister Kanae, who had also died at his hands.
Despite Shinobu's impressive Insect Breathing techniques, Doma resists her poison and fatally injures her. Shinobu's final attack briefly seems to work, but Doma recovers and attacks her fatally. As Shinobu nears death, Kanao arrives, and witnesses Doma absorb Shinobu. Enraged, Kanao attacks but is repelled. Doma completes the absorption, leaving only Shinobu's butterfly hairpiece behind.
2) Zenitsu Agatsuma vs Kaigaku
Zenitsu encounters his former senior, Kaigaku— now a demon— in the castle. Disregarding Kaigaku's status, Zenitsu declares him no longer a senior. Kaigaku mocks Zenitsu's abilities, but Zenitsu retorts that Kaigaku is merely filling an empty Upper Rank slot. The confrontation intensifies as Zenitsu blames Kaigaku for their master's death.
Enraged, Kaigaku attacks with his Blood Demon Art enhanced Thunder Breathing forms and backs Zenitsu into a corner, severely hurting him. Zenitsu, despite being injured, counters with Thunder Breathing, Seventh Form: Honoikazuchi no Kami, beheading Kaigaku. Yushiro rescues Zenitsu, who then dreams of Jigoro, receiving his master's approval and pride.
3) Tanjiro Kamado and Giyu Tomioka vs Akaza
Tanjiro and Giyu, seeking Muzan in the castle, come across Upper Rank Three. The fight begins as Tanjiro seeks to avenge Kyojuro Rengoku. Tanjiro and Giyu engage Akaza fiercely, with Giyu amazed at Tanjiro's growth. Akaza activates his Compass Needle, recognizing Tanjiro's strength.
Both the Demon Slayers push their abilities past their limit as Giyu awakens his Demon Slayer Mark, enhancing his abilities. Tanjiro then decapitates Akaza. Despite Akaza's head regenerating, Giyu and Tanjiro continue fighting. As Akaza's head regenerates, his memories as a human resurface, and he ends his own life, finding peace. Tanjiro and Giyu collapse from exhaustion, while other Upper Ranks react to Akaza's death.
4) Kanao Tsuyuri and Inosuke Hashibira vs Doma
As Shinobu is absorbed by Doma, Kanao arrives and is signaled by her. Enraged, Kanao attacks Doma but is repelled. She fights him fiercely using Flower Breathing techniques but struggles against his powerful attacks. That is when Inosuke intervenes, and together they battle Doma.
During the fight, Doma reveals he killed Inosuke's mother, enraging Inosuke further. As Doma begins to leave, he is weakened by the poison Shinobu had in her body. Kanao and Inosuke use a coordinated attack to behead Doma, who reflects on his defeat and his emotionless past as he dies.
5) Mitsuri Kanroji and Obanai lguro vs Nakime
While exploring the Infinity Castle, Mitsuri Kanroji and Obanai Iguro encounter Nakime, the new Upper Rank 4. Mitsuri attacks, but Nakime's Blood Demon Art deflects her, nearly causing her to fall. Obanai saves her, advising caution. Nakime's manipulation separates and attacks them.
Mitsuri dodges and counterattacks but is outmaneuvered again. In the midst of this, Obanai's attempt to behead Nakime is thwarted. That is when Yushiro appears and takes control of Nakime's vision and takes control of the Infinity Castle.
Yushiro then exposes Muzan to sunlight. During Muzan's battle with Giyu and Tanjiro, Muzan reveals Nakime's supposed victory over Mitsuri and Obanai. However, when the two Hashira surprise him, Muzan realizes that Makima is under the control of Yushiro. Muzan then kills Nakime to regain control of the Infinity Castle and focus on the remaining Hashira.
6) Muichiro Tokito, Genya Shinazugawa, Sanemi Shinazugawa and Gyomei Himejima vs Kokushibo
Separated from Gyomei Himejima by Nakime’s Blood Demon Art, Muichiro Tokito encounters Kokushibo, Upper Rank One, in the Infinity Castle. Kokushibo, revealing himself as Michikatsu Tsugikuni, surprises Muichiro. Despite the fear, Muichiro fights with Mist Breathing techniques, but Kokushibo effortlessly dodges and counters, severing Muichiro’s hand and stabbing him.
Offering Muichiro a chance to become a demon, Kokushibo’s offer is interrupted by Genya, who is swiftly injured. Sanemi arrives, rescuing Genya and confronting Kokushibo, showing skill and determination despite severe wounds. Gyomei joins, challenging Kokushibo with Stone Breathing techniques. Kokushibo praises Gyomei’s skill but avoids significant damage.
As Muichiro, gravely wounded, prepares to fight with limited time, Genya urges him to retrieve Kokushibo’s hair. Kokushibo, noting Gyomei’s Demon Slayer Mark, mentions its curse but is dismissed by Gyomei. Sanemi, patched up and awakened with his Demon Slayer Mark, joins Gyomei, and their synchronized attacks intensify the battle.
Kokushibo’s hidden ability to extend and branch his sword causes chaos, but Genya, now a demon, uses his Blood Demon Art to bind Kokushibo. Despite severe injuries, the Hashira persist and give it their all to take down the Demon. Gyomei and Sanemi’s red Nichirin Swords behead Kokushibo, who, in his final moments, questions his existence and remembers his brother, Yoriichi.
