Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train

Released in 2020, The Mugen Train is the first film in the Demon Slayer series, picking up right where Season 1 left off. This arc follows Tanjiro Kamado and his fellow Demon Slayers as they join Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku to investigate a string of disappearances on the Mugen Train.

While the movie covers the same storyline as the first half of the anime's second season, it was released first, with the TV adaptation offering some additional original content for fans. The Mugen Train broke records, becoming the highest-grossing anime film of all time and cementing its legacy in anime history.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village

Building on the unprecedented success of Mugen Train, Demon Slayer expanded its cinematic universe with the release of To the Swordsmith Village in 2023. This film picks up right after the Entertainment District arc, following Tanjiro as he journeys to the Swordsmith Village. There, he joins forces with the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, and the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji. The movie adapts the final two episodes of Season 2 and the first episode of Season 3, while the third season fully explores the manga’s Swordsmith Village arc. Though it serves primarily as a bridge between the seasons, the movie attracted considerable attention and achieved significant financial success.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training

Demon Slayer: To The Hashira Training premiered in Japanese theaters on February 2, 2024, before a grand debut in the USA on February 10, 2024, eventually hitting 140 countries between February 2 and March 7. The film performed exceptionally well at the box office, earning $17.6 million in the U.S. and reaching a reported figure of $44 million worldwide. The story follows Tanjiro, the Demon Slayers, and the elite Hashira swordsmen as they prepare for an epic confrontation with Muzan Kibutsuji, the Demon King.
