Ameku Takao's Detective Karte episode 1 & 2 recap
Episode 1 of Ameku Takao's Detective Karte anime, titled Dr. Sherlock, and episode 2, titled Blue Blood Cells and Dragon Fangs, were aired back-to-back in Japan on January 2, 2025, at 12 am JST.
Episode 1 of the anime introduced the character of Takao Ameku, an impulsive yet genius doctor/detective, who is renowned for her wits and deductive skills. Apart from being the director of the Department of Investigative Pathology at Tenikai General Hospital, Takao solves cases that even the police cannot pinpoint.
In the first episode, she showcased her skills and expertise as a detective and a doctor to accurately diagnose two patients whose cases were deemed almost impossible to diagnose, as well as help detectives solve an unusual case of the murder of a man whose blood was blue.
This case was resolved in the second episode, where Takao deduced that a skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex was used to tear off the man's left leg. She also figured out that the culprit was none other than a doctor they had met earlier, who was in reality an underground doctor catering to those in organized crime.
What's more, she also pinpointed the reason behind the deceased man's blue blood - Methemoglobinemia, which is a condition where hemoglobin in the red blood cells gets oxidized and turns blue. Apparently, this disorder was caused as a result of the doctor using a lot of local anesthetics on the man to treat a bullet wound, which caused him to exhibit methemoglobinemia.
After being exposed, the doctor tried to attack Takao in a final act of desperation. However, Takanashi was able to effortlessly fend off the attack and took down the doctor with a single punch.
Following this, Takao and Takanashi headed off to begin their "study session" as intended in the former's home. To their surprise, they ended up finding Takao's sister, Mazuru Ameku, waiting for them, who ended up reprimanding Takao for not drinking in moderation and ignoring her calls. With this, the episode came to an end.
What to expect from Ameku Takao's Detective Karte episode 3?
