Zenitsu Agatsuma from the Demon Slayer series has been receiving a lot of attention from the fanbase and it’s for all the right reasons. Ever since he was introduced in the anime series, he was known for being loud, whiny, and cowered in fear at every step of the way. His skills kick in when he loses consciousness and takes on demons when his body is operating purely on instincts.

It’s very rare for viewers to see Zenitsu change his demeanor. He is usually never serious and often complains about his training sessions. However, the latest episode showed a different side to Zenitsu that fans hadn’t seen before.

The anime-only fanbase is definitely not ready for the next fight that will feature the aforementioned demon hunter in the upcoming season of Demon Slayer. There is no doubt that the said fight which will be shown in the Infinity Castle arc will be the character’s biggest highlight in the series, and the current season set it up beautifully.

Demon Slayer: Why the anime-only fans should look forward to Zenitsu’s next fight

Zenitsu will end up becoming one of the coldest anime characters in the series and the recent episode sets up the fight perfectly. The episode began with Chuntaro rushing to Zenitsu to hand over a letter. This letter was quite important and changed Zenitsu’s life considerably after having read it.

The letter stated that Jigoro Kuwajima, his master, took his own life. He committed Seppuku after getting to know that his other student Kaigaku became a demon after his encounter with Kokushibo. Kaigaku was defeated by the Upper Moon 1 demon and was given two options - to die or to become a demon. Being the coward that he is, Kaigaku ends up becoming a demon.

Kaigaku is also the only Upper Moon demon except Kokushibo who knows a Breathing Technique. In the Infinity Castle arc, Zenitsu Agatsma will confront his former upperclassman in a duel. One thing that will stand out in this fight is Zenitsu’s demeanor. This is also the only fight wherein we will see this demon hunter fight someone without losing consciousness. Fans will get to see him in a different and more serious demeanor, he will even use a technique that he created for himself in the fight against Kaigaku.

He was someone who could only manage to master the first form of the Thunder Breathing Technique. On the other hand, Kaigaku managed to master all forms of Thunder Breathing, except for the first one. This makes this matchup quite interesting. The Upper Moon demons are strong as it is. However, Kaigaku also uses the Breathing Technique while fighting Zenitsu.

On paper, the scales tilt in Kaigaku’s favor. However, the deuteragonist emerges victorious and finishes Kaigaku off with a decisive blow. The Seventh form called the Flaming Thunder God - a technique that Zenitsu created and employed to destroy Kaigaku. This paired with Ufotable’s top-tier animation will likely make this one of the best fights in the anime series.
