Fuhrer Bradley has been one of the most popular anime swordsmen and respected characters introduced in the Fullmetal Alchemist series. Bradley possesses superhuman reflexes, tenacity, and years of battle experience.
All of his strengths are complemented by his special eye, which allows him to analyze any situation and devise countermeasures with ease. While this solidifies his place as one of the strongest anime swordsmen to ever exist, many other characters simply overshadow him with superior technique, greater battle experience, and overwhelming destructive capability.

Dracule Mihawk, Arthur Boyle, Saber, and 7 other anime swordsmen that will embarrass Fuhrer Bradley
1) Dracule Mihawk
Dracule Mihawk has been established as the current strongest swordsman in the One Piece series, with his strongest feat being cutting mountains clean apart. Being from the One Piece universe already places his overall power level above the Full Metal Alchemist characters.
While some fans might argue that Bradley’s special eye might tip the balance in his favor slightly, it should be noted that Mihawk has both armament and observation Haki of the highest degree, which ensures that he outclasses Bradley in every single aspect.
2) Arthur Boyle
Arthur Boyle from the Fire Force series is another anime swordsman who can be categorized as simply too overpowered. While he uses a blade made of fire, he is fueled by his delusions, making him believe that he is King Arthur himself. The stronger Arthur’s delusions are, the stronger he becomes.
His strongest feats include splitting the moon apart with a single slash and reacting to opponents faster than King Bradley. While Bradley might have more battle experience and tactics, Arthur will easily overpower them with his delusions.
3) Saber (Artoria Pendragon)
Artoria Pendragon, popularly known as “Saber,” is the Fate version of King Arthur, inspired by the legends. She has been established as one of the strongest servants in all of Fate, while also being a swordsman of the highest degree.
She dwarfs King Bradley in pure destructive power, speed, swordplay, as well as battle IQ and experience. This is further complemented by the fact that the overall power level of the Fate universe is far greater than anything in the Full Metal Alchemist universe.
4) Atomic Samurai
Atomic Samurai is one of the strongest and most charismatic swordsmen introduced in the One Punch Man series. Although some fans might argue that his and King Bradley’s power levels appear similar, Atomic Samurai’s inhuman durability, stamina, and precision, paired with his destructive power, simply outmatch him.
In an all-out fight between these two anime swordsmen, Atomic Samurai would win every time.
5) Kenpachi
Kenpachi is often argued to be the most brutal and one of the most ferocious characters in all of Bleach. Although King Bradley’s eye and cunning might give him an advantage in the beginning, Kenpachi’s pure physical might would overpower Bradley to a huge degree.
Moreover, Kenpachi surpasses Bradley in speed, power, battle IQ, and experience due to his natural inclination toward violence, along with being over 1,000 years old.
6) Reinhard Van Astrea
Reinhardt is arguably the strongest character in the Re:Zero series, with his power stemming from having almost every possible blessing, divine protection, and buff activated on him.
In the Re:Zero series, Reinhardt is considered akin to a natural phenomenon that can shift any situation to his own victory. He overshadows Bradley in speed, power, and swordplay, which is further complemented by his literal immortality.
7) Gilgamesh
Although Gilgamesh doesn’t fit the mold of a typical anime swordsman, his main and most prized weapon, "Ea" is a sword without match. While his swordplay might not be on par with everyone else mentioned on this list, he compensates with overwhelming destructive power, a literal infinite supply of weapons, and the ability to see into the past and future.
In an all-out fight between Gilgamesh and Bradley, Gilgamesh would win in every possible scenario.
8) Toji
Toji has been established as the absolute pinnacle of human strength in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, with his Heavenly Restriction granting him physicality above all else.
While some fans might think that Toji and King Bradley would be evenly matched, it should be noted that Toji’s feats of speed and strength far surpass those of King Bradley, who relies heavily on his battle IQ and special eye to subdue and defeat his opponents.
Although Bradley has an advantage in terms of battle experience, Toji’s assassination tactics, along with his rather unconventional arsenal of weapons and overwhelming physical might, would completely overwhelm Bradley in every possible way.
9) Ryuma
Ryuma has been one of the most mysterious characters in all of One Piece. While he has not made an actual appearance in the anime or manga, it is almost confirmed that his power level is comparable to, or might even surpass, that of Mihawk.
Being one of the strongest figures in the One Piece universe, his pursuit of swordsmanship confirms his superiority over Bradley.
10) Sasuke
Although the Naruto series doesn’t focus heavily on swordsmanship, Sasuke emerges as one of its most prominent and heavily explored swordsmen, wielding a sword named Kusanagi.
Although Sasuke’s physical strength might seem equal to Bradley’s, the rest of Sasuke’s arsenal, including the Susano’o and his overall speed, would overpower Bradley without much effort. King Bradley simply has no countermeasure against Sasuke’s healing, teleportation, and Sharingan.
Final thoughts
Although Fuhrer Bradley will most definitely lose to most of the "overpowered" anime swordsmen, it is important to note that these losses require overpowered techniques and an inflated power level to properly tip the balance against him.
Bradley's swordsmanship and overall battle prowess, when compared to a "normal" swordsman, would allow him to win against even the most sturdy and skillful opponents. This further stands as a testament to his significance as a character, who has managed to stay relevant in discussions despite the Fullmetal Alchemist series having ended almost an entire decade ago.
