The events begin with Mizuho's 17th birthday, which she had labeled as her worst birthday previously. Not only did her father forget her birthday but also her crush rejected her advances. That's when Mizuho received a sudden confession from her childhood friend Kizuki.

Kizuki wanted to become Mizuho's boyfriend and started making small gestures, depicting his emotions for him. Mizuho believed that Kizuki was only making the gestures to cheer her up, but Kizuki was serious. This was especially evident when he stated he was confident Mizuho would fall in love with him. With that, he kissed her.
