Arifureta season 3 episode 2 released on October 21, 2024. The episode continued the journey of Hajime and company as they entered the Hoelscher Empire and experienced its inequality the hard way. Fortunately, they could save the Haulia tribe from the Empire, and Hajime vowed to help the tribe in their battle against the Empire without getting involved.
Surprisingly, despite the anime having a poor history of bad animation, the third sequel is doing a good job in every department. Moreover, the story of the sequel is also going smoothly, indicating that the only thing the studio asread needed was to avoid collaborating with other studios because it could be the reason behind the third sequel's smooth production.

Arifureta season 3 episode 2: Hajime and company's funny infiltration of the Hoelscher Empire's castle saves the Haulias
Arifureta season 3 episode 2, The Roar of Revolution, commenced with Hajime and company entering the Hoelscher Empire. As soon as they entered, they saw how badly the Haulia tribe members were treated and that the tribe's children were also treated as slaves. Even though the Hero tried helping them, Hajime wanted to avoid unnecessary attention.
As they asked around for the whereabouts of Shea's father and the other Haulia tribe members, they learned that everyone was taken to the castle and put into prison.
While preparing to infiltrate the palace, Hajime and Yue wanted to take some private time. That created a misunderstanding in the group because Hajime only wanted to feed Yue some blood (as she's a vampire).
Nevertheless, after doing so, a plan was devised to enter the palace and free the Haulia tribe members. As Hajime's party was with him, the only problem was how the Hero's party would infiltrate the palace. So, Hajime created four masks (that resembled the masks from the Japanese TV series Power Rangers) and urged them to wear these.
Although hesitant at first, the Hero's party wore strange masks and infiltrated the palace, distracting the soldiers while Hajime and his party entered the prison. After saving the Haulia tribe members, the party looked for Shea's father who was being tortured in a separate room. Despite being in a pinch, Shea's father tried his best to intimidate the soldiers so that they wouldn't attack him.
After witnessing his embarrassing display for a while, Arifureta season 3 episode 2 saw Hajime enter the cell and take care of the soldiers. They then freed Shea's father and escaped the Palace with the Haulia tribe. The tribe then revealed that they were willing to go against the Empire because it considered the tribe as toys.
Shea was hesitant about her tribe opting for such a reckless move, as that would mean killing themselves. Moreover, Hajime also stayed out of this because it would attract unwanted attention. However, Hajime assured Shea by raising the morale of the Haulia tribe and saying that they shouldn't falter in killing the Emperor of the Empire without any shame.
Arifureta season 3 episode 2: Relentless production from studio asread proves the studio's individual potential
Arifureta season 3 episode 2 was consistent in animation and story-telling, just like the premiere episode. Although the reasons behind it were unveiled, it could be an indication that what Studio asread needed was to remain solo in the anime's production.
Although the staff members for an anime series could be from different studios, the production of an anime takes place in the studio it's credited for. While every anime collaborates with other animation studios, the ones that are credited with production from two animation studios have production divided into two halves.
Arifureta season 1 was produced in a collaboration with Studio White Fox and the second sequel in a collaboration with Studio Mother. With the prequels having issues with inconsistent animation and rushed storylines, unlike Arifureta season 3, it could be a cue for Studio asread to go solo with some of their projects.
Final thoughts
Studio asread might become the underdog of the Fall 2024 Anime Season, as there are hardly any issues with the series as of Arifureta season 3 episode 2.
Yes, there hasn't been an animation of a large-scale monster in the series yet, which is the deciding point of CGI animation. However, with Studio asread being consistent so far, they might break the cycle of below-standard CGI animation this season.
