Black Butler season 4 episode 11: Ciel and Sebastian enjoy a casual day, while a new threat looms large

Black Butler season 4 episode 11, titled His Butler, Taking Off, was released on Saturday, June 22, 2024, on Tokyo MX, BS11, and other networks in Japan. The episode saw Ciel Phantomhive and Michaelis Sebastian go about their daily business in the manor and outside.

The final episode of season 4 proved to be a nostalgic one for fans who have been following the series since the first installment, as it featured many familiar characters from the past.

However, the major highlight of Black Butler season 4 episode 11 was the final segments, which highlighted that Ciel and Sebastian's adventures were far from over. The episode covered chapters 85 and the first half of chapter 86 from Yana Toboso's manga series.

Black Butler season 4 episode 11 begins with Mey-Rin, Finnian, Baldory, and others going about their usual business at the Phantomhive manor under the supervision of the butler, Michaelis Sebastian. He closely observes their work and then goes to Ciel's room to wake him up.

Sebastian pours a blend tea from the Fortnum & Mason, with some honey and milk, as per Ciel's taste. As the young Phantomhive sips the tea, Sebastian tells him that there's a stack of documents that require his signature.

Additionally, the butler reminds Ciel about the invitation to Harrod's new department. When Phantomhive agrees to this, Sebastian makes another request.

In Black Butler season 4 episode 11, Michaelis Sebastian wants to purchase a new pair of glasses for Mey-Rin and a new hat for Finny (Finnian). At that moment, Soma arrives at Ciel's room and causes chaos.

He is devastated about being left alone at Weston College, with Ciel dropping out. Ciel and Sebastian then notice that Soma's butler, Agni, has also arrived alongside the Indian royalty.

Black Butler season 4 episode 11 reveals that Agni had been watching over Soma in Weston College from the shadows. Interestingly, Sebastian knew about this all along. Nevertheless, Ciel and Sebastian request the duo to watch the house while they are gone, since they have some important errands to run.

After telling Soma and Agni to watch over the house, Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian leave to run the necessary errand with Finny, Mey-Rin, and other Phantomhive servants in their private wagon.

Black Butler season 4 episode 11 then shows the breathtaking sight of London as the Phantomhive servants appreciate the towering Big Ben, and the Tower Bridge, which is under construction.

After arriving at the destination, Ciel purchases new glasses for Mey-Rin and a straw hat for Finnian. The shopping continues with the young Phantomhive buying Arthur's historical fiction and some candies for himself and the servants.

With everything done, Ciel believes it's time for the inspection. However, Sebastian wants to make one final stop at the Somerset House before that. When Ciel asks him what business he has there, the butler shows the boy Undertaker's chain of mourning lockets.

Sebastian reveals in Black Butler season 4 episode 11 that he has researched the lockets, and found the name Claudia Phantomhive, the grandmother of Ciel, inscribed in one of them.

The boy speculates that Undertaker has been involved with the Phantomhive family, even before the previous earl. After that, Black Butler season 4 episode 11 shows Ciel and others visiting the new department of Harrod.

Michaelis Sebastian feels that the perfume's advertisement and the mascot need a slight rework. However, his conversation with Ciel is interrupted by a loud shriek. They then notice that a wagon has been toppled in an accident. Sebastian rushes to help, before telling the servants to take care of Ciel.

Interestingly, the butler discovers Irene Diaz, an esteemed opera singer and actress inside the wagon with Julius Pittman, a Haymarket actor. Diaz reveals that she was on her way to the theatre for a performance, and wasn't supposed to be seen with Julius, a rival actor.

Meanwhile, the actors and the directors of the play are distressed by the fact that Irene has yet to arrive. However, Sebastian vigorously pulls the wagon, and races to the theatre to ensure the actress reaches on time.

Black Butler season 4 episode 11 then shows Irene making a grand entrance, riding Funtom's mascot, the unicorn stuffed animal. Her magnificent entrance and brilliant performance earn the crowd's admiration.

Ciel and the Phantomhive servants, on the other hand, wait for Sebastian, while a large crowd gathers around Harrod to buy perfumes. Thankfully, Sebastian saves Ciel from the crowd and comes out of his unicorn getup.

When Ciel enquires about his getup, Sebastian reveals that he has been advertising for the new product. The butler's plan works, as the sales for Funtom's new product double.

Black Butler season 4 episode 11: A new threat awaits Ciel and Phantomhive in Germany

After the end credits, Black Butler season 4 episode 11 switches the location to Germany, where a pair of nobles on horseback attempt to hunt a fox. As the fox escapes into the forest chased by their hunting dogs, they wonder whether they should go inside or not.

One of the nobles brings up a ghastly rumor about the forest being cursed. Nevertheless, they decide to enter the forest and bump into an old woman wearing an amulet. She tells them to run away or else they will be cursed.

However, the nobles ignore her warnings and probe deeper into the woods. Eventually, they find their hunting dogs growing at something and decide to take a closer look. Black Butler season 4 episode 11 ends on a terrifying note, with a creature, presumably a werewolf, appearing from the woods.
