While Black Clover fans are left thirsty for more manga content due to the series' switch to Jump GIGA magazine, they do have their minds occupied with one major mystery to solve, and that is the absence of Leopold Vermillion.
The character was introduced quite early in the series and made recurring appearances throughout different story arcs. However, ever since his last appearance during the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc, the Crimson Lion Magic Knight has gone missing.
Thus, Black Clover fans frequently remember him and question his absence in the manga. That's when one fan created a theory that seemed reasonable for the plot.

Black Clover's Leopold Vermillion may have turned into a paladin
After the alleged spoilers for Black Clover chapters 370 and 371 leaked out, fans were again left disappointed to learn that Leopold Vermillion would not be making an appearance in the upcoming manga chapters. Hence, one Black Clover fan on X, @HikariSuzuki14, theorized that Lucius Zogratis must have turned the Crimson Lions Magic Knight into a Paladin.
As manga fans know, mangaka Yuki Tabata doesn't forget his characters. Also, one probably couldn't forget or ignore the sheer number of fans who have been asking about Leopold's whereabouts. Therefore, there is no way Tabata has forgotten about the character. Hence, fans are certain that the manga creator must have some plans for the character.
Considering that besides Leopold, the two Vermillion siblings—Mereoleona and Fuegoleon—are shown taking part in the battle, the fan is certain that Leopold's absence would have something to do with Lucius. This also works with the events that are taking place in the manga.
While Mereoleona had been fighting Paladin Moris all this time, Fuegoleon was comparatively fighting weaker opponents. Thus, if Leopold does return as a Paladin, one can say with absolute certainty that Yuki Tabata had been planning to have Leopold fight his older brother Fuegoleon. This is why Fuegoleon was being matched up against weaker opponents to keep him reasonably fit for the fight.
The last time fans were concerned about a character was when Magna and Zora went missing in the manga. The series had not explained the reason behind their absence. Eventually, the two characters reappeared in the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc, during which Magna Swing showcased the results of the training he did off-screen.
With that in mind, there is also the small possibility that Leopold Vermillion was essentially preparing for the fight on Judgment Day and just hadn't returned to the Clover Kingdom in time.
One should also note that former Golden Dawn Vice-Captain Langris Vaude has also been missing from the manga for some time. While the chances of Leopold training with Langris are low, the fact that Langris, similar to Leopold, was a younger brother could have seen Leopold go to the Spatial Magic user for some help. Likewise, even Langris could have something to gain by training with Leopold.
