From the very beginning of Black Clover's final arc, the manga has heavily focused on the impact of Paladins in the story. This was evident from Asta's fight against Paladin Sister Lily in the Hino Country as Lucius's actions had forced the protagonist to fight someone very dear to him.

However, this fight also left fans with some hope for positive development because after Asta defeated Sister Lily, she turned back into a human. Hence, fans were led to theorize that the "de-Paladinfication" of formerly deceased Magic Knights could help them revive from the dead.

Unfortunately, evidence from the latest two Black Clover chapters suggests otherwise.

As fans might remember, the Hino Country was invaded by three Paladins - Lily Aquaria, Yrul, and Heath Graice. Out of the three Paladins, two of them, i.e., Lily and Yrul were living humans that were turned into Paladins. However, that was not the case for Heath Graice. The former member of the Eye of the Midnight Sun had passed away long ago, yet Lucius was able to bring him back as a Paladin.

At the time, the manga did not reveal if he was still alive or had gone back to being dead after getting defeated. Hence, fans were led to theorize that defeating the Paladins could help the revived Paladins stay alive as humans. However, that seemingly isn't the case.

This is because Black Clover chapter 373 saw the Silva siblings kill their mother Paladin Acier Silva following a very difficult fight. This development suggests that defeating Paladins would not let them stay revived. This is because if that was possible, manga creator Yuki Tabata might have turned the story in such a way that the Silva siblings do not kill Acier but only defeat her. Instead, the manga saw the four siblings blast her to bits through their combined effort.

Hence, there is a good chance that there was never a chance for the Magic Knights to just "de-Paladinify" the revived Paladins and have them join them as allies.

The reason we cannot confirm that the revived Paladins cannot remain alive is because, as fans might remember, up until now, the only Paladins who survived after getting defeated are the ones who fought Asta. Hence, there is a small chance that the reason they are alive but others aren't is because Asta was the only person capable of "de-Paladinizing" them using his Anti-Magic Swords.

Hence, if Asta were the one to fight Paladin Heath Graice, Moris Libardirt, and Acier Silva, there might have been a chance that he could have "de-Paladinized" them, allowing them to remain alive. This would have been a major story development as the Silva siblings and Nacht Faust could have been reunited with their deceased family members.
