Bleach TYBW episode 30: Yhwach decides to eradicate the Soul King, Uryu confronts Ichigo
Picking up the events from the previous installment, Bleach TYBW episode 30 begins with Jushiro Ukitake sacrificing his body to Mimihagi to act as the Soul King's replacement and save the realms from collapsing. Mimihagi, who happens to be the Right Arm of the Soul King, extends from Jushiro's orifices and reaches the Royal Palace to grab the severed Soul King.
Interestingly, Yhwach's Almighty eyes fail to anticipate the event. He speculates that the being grabbing the Soul King must be a part of the revered being himself. Yhwach loudly asks the Soul King whether it has grown attached to the Soul Society, which it had been protecting.
At any rate, Yhwach can't imagine the Right Arm of the Soul King, who represents "Stillness," would get in his way. He wonders whether the Soul King's will doesn't reside there. As such, the Quincy King plans to eradicate the Right Arm as well as the Soul King.
Just then in Bleach TYBW episode 30, Ichigo Kurosaki breaks free from his Quincy blood's restraints and intercepts Yhwach's attack to defend Adyneus. Ichigo's spirited fightback allows Yoruichi to cast a sealing technique to preserve the Soul King and his Right Arm.
Meanwhile, Yhwach reminds Ichigo how weak he is, for not having the killing instinct. At that moment, Yoruichi gets shot by an arrow. Bleach TYBW episode 30 shows Uryu Ishida, arriving at the scene. Yoruichi's momentary break in concentration shatters the sealing spell, allowing Yhwach to try and eradicate the Soul King.
When Yoruichi retaliates with a spell, Yhwach summons Pernida, who uses a technique to twist the Soul Reaper's arm. Elsewhere in Bleach TYBW episode 30, Yhwach tries to pull Mimihagi from the Soul King. The pavement surrounding the Soul King's castle breaks as a result.
Bleach TYBW episode 30: Ichigo vs. Uryu begins while Chad and others take on the Schutzstaffel
The narrative for Bleach TYBW episode 30 switches to Ichigo's perspective, who can't believe his friend, Uryu Ishida is siding with Yhwach. However, Uryu remains unperturbed by the substitute Soul Reaper's words. Rather, he warns him not to interfere with the Quincy King's plans.
Elsewhere in the Royal Palace, Chad, Ganju, and Orihime confront Yhwach's Schutzstaffel members, namely Gerald Valkyrie, Askin Nakk Le Var, Pernida, and Lille Barro. Gerald mocks them, as he expected to see an army. Shortly after that, Bleach TYBW episode 30 cuts to the Ichigo vs. Uryu battle.
Uryu Ishida uses his Quincy Arrows against Ichigo Kurosaki's twin blades. Interestingly, he casts a few arrows without even using his Quincy Bow, catching Ichigo off-guard. Uryu then uses Licht Reigen at Ichigo, which sends the substitute Soul Reaper to the lower level of the Soul King's palace.
Uryu Ishida's never-ending arrows push Ichigo to a corner and force him to run around. Eventually, one of the arrows hit him, but Ichigo's blut-vene blocks the attack, shocking Uryu in the process. Ichigo Kurosaki uses the opportunity to counterattack and pin Uryu to the ground.
Ichigo can't fathom why Uryu has been acting against them. He shouts at him, asking him to come to his senses. However, Uryu reminds him that he's a Quincy, and that's all that matters. He adds that the world doesn't need the Soul Reapers. Bleach TYBW episode 30 then focuses on Uryu Ishida, who activates his Quincy Vollstandig.
Uryu's Vollstandig form clads him with reishi armors and wings, while infinite arrows encircle him. Bleach TYBW episode 30 then switches to the Research Lab, where Akon and other members of the 12th Division observe an instability in the Sutra Scale.
Meanwhile, Kisuke Urahara feels they must do something to maintain the world's balance, since Jushiro Ukitake, with his limited life force, can only hold the realms for a while. After that, the episode returns to the Royal Palace, where Uryu Ishida showcases his new powers against Ichigo Kurosaki.
He maneuvers his infinite arrows around to corner Ichigo. Uryu's Vollstandig powers enable him to demonstrate his arrows akin to Byakuya's Senbonzakura, albeit faster. Elsewhere, Ganju crafts a fine strategy against the Schutzstaffel members.
However, it doesn't do much, as they activate their Quincy Vollstandig. On the other side, Mimihagi defends the severed Soul King against Yhwach. From Isane to Rukia, almost everyone at the Research Lab in the Seireitei is worried about Ukitake. Soon after that, Bleach TYBW episode 30 shifts to Ichigo, who fights an aerial battle against Uryu.
The Quincy tells Ichigo that even though he once felt that there existed a common ground between the Soul Reapers and the Quincies when he learned about the Quincy's history, he decided to discard those previous feelings. Uryu then decides to end the battle.
Bleach TYBW episode 30 shows Uryu Ishida concentrating the arrows to form a huge pentagonal attack called Sternenstaub. Seemingly alarmed by the technique, Ichigo Kurosaki demonstrates Getsuga Jujisho. However, Ichigo's attack flies past Uryu.
Meanwhile, the Quincy ends the battle with a single shot through Ichigo's torso. Uryu Ishida's resolve resonates with the Schutzstaffel, who accept him as one of their kind. Bleach TYBW episode 30 then switches to Yhwach, who absorbs Mimihagi and cuts through Soul King's ultimate seal. The episode ends with Yhwach absorbing the Soul King, and developing new powers as a result.
