Bleach TYBW episode 38: Jugram and Bazz-B's past is revealed
Bleach TYBW episode 38 begins with a scene from the past, showing how Jugram Haschwalth and Bazz-B met for the first time. One day, while hunting for a rabbit, Bazz B saw a young boy trying the same with a regular bow and arrow. Bazz-B then kills the rabbit with a Holy Arrow and asks Jugram what's wrong with him. During their short exchange, the duo learns each other's names.
Following that, the narrative for Bleach TYBW episode 38 shifts to the Warhwelt castle, where Bazz-B has come to fight Jugram Haschwalth and then kill Yhwach. However, Jugram is least bothered to combat Bazz-B, who he feels isn't from the enemy.
Meanwhile, he realizes Bazz-B wasn't among the chosen ones from Yhwach's Auswahlen. However, Sternritter H doesn't care about anything as he wants to settle his score with his former friend, Jugo. He demonstrates Burner Finger Two, forcing Jugram to draw his blade.
Bazz-B knows that Yhwach and Jugram will soon swap powers. Therefore, he has come to end the Quincy King's life along with his former friend, whom he calls a traitor. Bleach TYBW episode 38 then shows a captivating battle scene between Jugram and Bazz-B, before transitioning to their past.
According to the episode, Jugram couldn't collect reishi and form Heilig Bogen or Holy Arrow like the others. He considered himself pathetic. On the contrary, Bazz-B felt he was a genius to be able to form a bow at a young age. During their exchange, he discovered Jugram didn't have any friends.
So, he decided to take him under his wing as his side-kick and began to address him by Jugo. However, Jugram didn't like his name. He also mentioned how he didn't have any parents and lived with his uncle.
A subtle detail on Jugram's arm (scar marks) suggests his uncle used to abuse him. Nevertheless, Bazz-B extended his arm and gave a coin as a token of their friendship. Eventually, Jugram and Bazz-B became friends.
Bleach TYBW episode 38: Bazz-B learns about Jugram's actual power
After the flashback scene, Bleach TYBW episode 38 returns to the present. Bazz-B asks Jugram why they have changed Silbern's name to Wahrwelt. However, Jugram doesn't want to answer Bazz's questions, as he feels they are meaningless. Moreover, he urges him to stop the battle since he wants to protect the castle from destruction.
Just then, Bleach TYBW episode 38 switches to a gruesome scene from Bazz-B's past, showing how Yhwach and his men killed Bazz-B's close ones and burned his castle to cinders. Although Bazz cowered in fear and hid from Yhwach, he made up his mind to seek revenge.
The next day, Jugram arrived at the scene and witnessed the massacre. He revealed how his uncle had also died from a forest fire caused by Yhwach. However, he didn't seem bothered by the man's death. Yet, since he had no one else in his life, Jugram decided to follow Bazz B and share his dream of killing Yhwach.
They entered the burned castle and collected some valuable belongings. Jugram saw a sword and picked it up, which eventually became his primary weapon. The duo swore to follow their dream and desired to become the strongest Quincies. Meanwhile, Yhwach decided to create a new team, called the Sternritter, to conquer the Soul Society.
On the other hand, five years passed since the castle's events. Bazz-B had grown stronger than ever, but Jugram couldn't develop his Quincy abilities. Bazz-B wondered whether he made a mistake by partnering with Jugram in his quest for vengeance.
Eventually, the day came when Yhwach's military police announced the formation of the Sternritter and that the Quincy King was looking for recruits. Bazz-B realized it was the ideal situation for him to get closer to Yhwach and kill him. Without hesitating, he volunteered to be part of the team.
Just then in Bleach TYBW episode 38, Yhwach appeared. His immense aura incapacitated almost everyone, bringing them to their knees. Bazz-B was also cornered to the ground. Only Jugram remained standing. Yhwach extended his arm to Jugram and invited him to become his Right-Hand man.
He revealed that Jugram's powers were unique. According to the episode, Jugram had the same power to give, like Yhwach. Moreover, Yhwach explained to Bazz-B how he had been living under the impression that his powers were the result of his genius. Apparently, Jugram influenced Bazz-B's fast growth.
Meanwhile, Jugram was confused about the situation. He looked back at Bazz-B to seek advice. However, he saw the boy's jealous eyes, which shocked him. Yhwach's revelation and Bazz-B's response created a rift in their friendship, which couldn't mend.
Later, Bazz-B entered the Sternritter's group on his own merit and challenged Jugram many times. However, the Quincy, who had become the Commander of the Sternritter, refused his challenge every time.
He even threatened to execute Hubert (one of the officers) if he fought Bazz. Jugram said fighting among the teammates was prohibited. However, Bazz-B wanted to challenge him once.
Bleach TYBW episode 38: Jugram Haschwalth ends the battle
After the long flashback, Bleach TYBW episode 38 returns to the Wahrwelt, showing the Jugram vs. Bazz-B's battle. The Sternritter H wants to combat against Jugram and show his strength.
However, Jugram feels it's meaningless. He slices off Bazz-B's right hand when he charges at him with Burner Finger Four. Although Bazz-B bleeds profusely, he doesn't stop. Rather, he demonstrates his strongest move, Burning Full Finger, with his other arm.
Jugram Haschwalth blocks the attack and swiftly moves his blade to injure Bazz-B critically. While bleeding profusely, Bazz-B approaches Jugram and acknowledges his victory.
Bleach TYBW episode 38 ends with Bazz-B, on the verge of his death, recalling the promise he made with Jugram in the past about becoming the strongest Quincies ever. On the other hand, Jugram sheathes his blade and appears broken from the inside.
