On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, the official website for the series revealed the preview synopsis, images, and staff details for Bleach TYBW Episode 38. The episode, titled FRIEND, is set to be released on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11 pm JST on TV Tokyo and other networks in Japan.

In the previous episode, Lille Barro resurrected to his second & terrifying form after surviving Shunsui Kyoraku's Bankai. Meanwhile, Nanao Ise returned to the battlefield and asked Shunsui to return her Zanpakuto.

It was revealed that Nanao's mother had requested Shunsui to hide their Ise clan's Divine Sword to ensure Nanao didn't fall victim to her clan's dreaded Curse. However, Nanao willingly sacrificed her happiness and wielded the sword, Shinken Hakkyoken, to defeat Lille Barro.

Bleach TYBW Episode 38 preview reveals Bazz-B taking on Jugram Haschwalth

According to the official synopsis, the narrative for Bleach TYBW Episode 38 will switch to Bazz-B's battle against Jugram Haschwalth. As the war between the Soul Reapers and the Quincies rages on, Bazz B will look to settle his past scores with his "Friend," Jugram. Thus, he appears at the Wahrwelt castle to challenge his former friend, who betrayed his expectations.

The synopsis also reveals that Bleach TYBW Episode 38 will explore Bazz B and Jugram's past, including how they met each other for the first time as "Buzz" and "Jugo" and continued to hone their skills with the sole objective of becoming the "Strongest Quincy."

However, Yhwach's arrival eventually diverged their paths and changed their friendship. The preview images for Bleach TYBW Episode 38 show Bazz-B and Jugram's present and past.

In one of the episode cuts, Jugram appears shocked. On the other hand, Bazz-B's younger version is seen creating an object made of Reishi. Besides them, the preview images feature Yhwach's younger self.

Prior to the preview images and the synopsis, the official staff announced Chiaki Kobayashi and Marina Inoue as the voice actors for the younger versions of Bazz-B and Jugram, respectively. A special PV was also revealed, previewing their character voices.

Along with the synopsis, the official website revealed information on the main staff for Bleach TYBW Episode 38. Masaki Hiramatsu, who was in charge of the previous episode's screenplay, is reprising his role in the upcoming episode. Yasuaki Kurotsu is handling the storyboards under the direction of Dali Chen.

The animation directions include Saeko Ozawa, Cindy H. Yamauchi, Tomoko Hayashi, and Kazuo Takigawa. Kiyoshi Komatsubara is listed as the chief animation director.

Cindy H. Yamauchi has previously worked as an animation director in Episodes 27 and 30. On the other hand, Bleach TYBW episode 38 marks Dali Chen's second stint as an episode director.

Previously, Dali Chen directed Episode 33, which featured an original battle between Uryu Ishida and Renji Abarai. The episode received critical acclamation from fans and critics alike, with many comparing it to the cour 1's Yhwach vs. Genryusai battle. Undoubtedly, the upcoming episode has star-studded staff.
