With the release of Bleach TYBW part 3 episode 2, Pierrot Films made huge changes to the anime when compared to the source material, i.e., the manga. While it had become quite normal for Studio Pierrot to make minor changes when adapting the series, the number of changes in the newly released episode was astonishing.

This not only included the reshuffling of events to build up intensity but also the addition of anime original scenes to give fans just what they wanted. So, let's take a look at the differences between the Bleach manga and Bleach TYBW part 3 episode 2.

Bleach TYBW part 3 episode 2: Every change made by the anime

1) Yhwach's original scene with Soul King

Bleach TYBW part 3 episode 2 opened with an original scene of Yhwach and Soul King. While the Father of the Quincy referred to the Soul King as his father, this was the first time fans got a glimpse of their interactions from the past.

The scene saw a young Yhwach standing in a water body possibly gazing at Soul King and growing up. Just as he became a young adult, his body transitioned into that of a baby. This baby was seemingly later revered by people and was turned into the Father of the Quincy. However, not a lot about the same was revealed in the anime.

2) Bleach TYBW part 3 episode 2 featured an original Ichigo vs. Yhwach battle

To everyone's surprise, Bleach TYBW part 3 episode 2 featured an original fight between Ichigo Kurosaki and Yhwach. The battle saw Ichigo push Yhwach in the battle to the point where he was able to knock him down using his new powers. This scene essentially allowed Yhwach to understand Ichigo's power-up.

Nevertheless, the power-up was useless as Yhwach was way stronger after recovering his Schrift 'A' - The Almighty. Hence, after a long fight, both characters returned to the place where Soul King was located.

3) Captains and Lieutenants heading to the Department of Research and Development

While the captains and lieutenants do head to the Department of Research and Development in the manga as well, the anime made some big changes to the scenes. For starters, the anime saw the said Gotei 13 members directly reach the rendezvous point. As for the anime, it saw Rukia and Renji discussing the situation and then heading to the location.

Even when they reached Urahara's location, the conversation was cut short as the former Gotei 13 Captain directly informed them about his plan. Meanwhile, in the manga, there was some extra dialogues regarding the missing captains' statuses. The anime also showed fans a scene where Ukitake could be seen healing Zaraki Kenpachi.

4) Yoruichi and Orihime's scene was altered

In the manga, Yoruichi Shihouin and Orihime Inoue only partake in the action after Ichigo slashed Soul King. Yoruichi trapped Yhwach with her ability and asked Orihime to heal the Soul King.

However, in the anime, both of them attempt to help Ichigo during the fight itself. Just as Ichigo and Yhwach clashed their weapons, Yoruichi arrived to trap the Father of the Quincy. As for Orihime, she used her ability to heal Ichigo mid-battle.
