Bleach TYBW part 3 episode 4 recap
After a short recap showing Jushiro Ukitake's sacrifice, the episode kicks off with Yhwach bewildered at the Soul King's resistance. He can't believe the Right Arm of the Soul King would try to defend the Soul Society. Meanwhile, Ichigo Kurosaki breaks free from his Quincy Blood's restraints and blocks Yhwach from eliminating the Soul King.
Yoruichi uses the opportunity to seal the Soul King again with a new spell. However, Uryu Ishida arrives at the scene and fires an arrow at Yoruichi. Ichigo Kurosaki can't believe Uryu has sided with Yhwach. The episode then focuses on Ichigo's battle against an old friend.
Uryu reminds the Ichigo of his purpose as a Quincy. Thus, he feels Ichigo must kill him if he wants to stop him. During their battle, Uryu Ishida activates his Vollstandig, giving him even more strength. He maneuvers his arrows and corners Ichigo with successive attacks.
On the other hand, Ganju, Chad, and Orihime show a spirited front against Yhwach's Schutzstaffel. Although they come up with a crafty strategy, thanks to Ganju, the Schutzstaffel's strength proves too much for them to stand a chance.
Elsewhere in the Seireitei, Kisuke Urahara realizes they must hurry because Jushiro Ukitake won't be able to prevent the realms' destruction for too long. Following that, the episode returns to the Royal Palace, where Uryu demonstrates a fearsome attack called Sternenstaub.
Ichigo Kurosaki replies with Getsuga Jujisho, but the attack doesn't hit Uryu. Eventually, the Quincy ends the battle with a single arrow shot through Ichigo's torso. Uryu's determination and resolve gain him the Schutzstaffel's favor. Meanwhile, Yhwach successfully absorbs Mimihagi and the Soul King. The episode ends with the Quincy King developing ominous powers.
