The first is Chinatsu Kano, a first-year senior high student and Taiki's crush.

Chinatsu is the top player of the basketball team and between her strong personality and Taiki's dullness is a significant distance. Taiki has shown talent in badminton, but he is not as well-liked as Chinatsu, making it very unlikely for the latter to like Taiki back. The thought that he is the one she likes is somehow a joke. However, in a strange twist of fate, Chinatsu ends up living in Taiki's house!

Taiki resolves to make himself deserving of Chinatsu, and he takes on the same goal as her: competing in the Nationals, proving that he really likes her. He throws himself into practice everyday and is also filled with fresh strength and serious commitment.

Telecom Animation Film, the well-known studio for series such as Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro and The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse, is producing the anime adaptation of Blue Box. The writing of the series was led by Yūko Kakihara, and the pilot was directed by Yūichirō Yano. In addition, Miho Tanino will be responsible for the character design.
