Blue Box chapter 164: The childhood of the Yusa brothers is revealed as Chono learns the true meaning of love

Blue Box chapter 164 was expected to see Chono help Haruto in painting the canvas for the latter's class' play on the upcoming cultural festival. The chapter delivered what it set to, as Chono and Haruto enjoyed a moment together. Moreover, Haruto's childhood was also revealed when he followed his elder brother everywhere.

As the fandom had expected, this was also how Haruto developed an interest in badminton, however, he wasn't as good as his brother in this. The chapter returned to the current time as Chono explained how Haruto's personal traits make him what he is, despite his rude behavior. Chono later realized that wanting to be witnessed by your loved ones could be what 'falling in love' means.

Blue Box chapter 164: Chono and Haruto continue painting as Haruto's childhood flashes before him

Blue Box chapter 164 was titled Socially Awkward. The chapter commenced with a brief flashback of Haruto's first day at Eimei High School, where he was being scolded by one of the teachers for not wearing his tie. The chapter then returned to where it left off in the previous chapter as Chono joined Haruto to paint after a random student messed it up by stumbling over it.

Chono was overjoyed as she had never painted on such a big canvas before, but Haruto complained about how she was messing it up by painting over the lines. Chono explained, how during painting, one goes from creating the big details and then goes on to the minute details.

She then asked Haruto for the sake of formality, whether he should have asked one of his classmates for help. He stated that this was his blunder so he was responsible for fixing it. Chono called him an "awkward dude" over this and stated that he was more 'awkward' than he thought he was.

Blue Box chapter 164 then showcased the childhood of the Yusa brothers, Haruto and Shuji. Haruto was always copying his elder brother, as he copied Shuji's interest in badminton and drawing. However, Shuji highly excelled in this sport, and Haruto was moderately good at it. Looking at his brother's zealous form, Haruto requested others to practice with him.

However, no one had the stamina to continue so Haruto just witnessed his brother playing. From that moment, Haruto followed Shuji whenever he went to badminton practice and even covered his racket with the same color taped as Shuji.

One day, Shuji wasn't returning home though his curfew was nearning, so their mother panicked and asked Haruto about Shuji's whereabouts. After finding nothing, they decided to venture to the only place where he could be, the badminton court.

Once they reached, they found Shuji playing badminton with some grown-ups. Immediately, Shuji's mother started scolding him for not worrying about others, to which he replied by saying that he was planning on returning by the end of his curfew.

The grown-ups who were playing with Shuji stated that he was a generational talent. On their way back, Shuji asked them to play with him again in the future. The next day, Haruto arrived at the badminton stadium and asked the same boys to play with him. However, as he wasn't "good enough," he was asked to leave before his curfew.

Blue Box chapter 164 then returned to the present where Chono was explaining how in Beauty and the Beast, the princess never cared about how her lover looked. She then claimed that to be loved for who you are was what she believed 'love' was in its purest form.

After this, Haruto's classmates arrived and asked him about the black spot on the canvas. The person who had caused it arrived and stated that it was all his fault and he ran away because he got nervous. One of Haruto's classmates jumped in and explained that Haruto was not a guy to be scared of because he might look scary but on the inside, he is a pure-hearted boy.

Everyone started laughing and so did Chono, who explained that Haruto's short-tempered yet kind personality was what made him Haruto Yusa. Blue Box chapter 164 ended with Chono realizing that 'falling in love' could be a feeling where a person feels overjoyed over the fact that their lover is witnessing them.
