A month had passed since Chinatsu moved in with Taiki’s family, and Taiki had grown used to seeing her in the mornings. One Friday, as he sat for breakfast with his mother and Chinatsu, he was mused on how wonderful it felt to have a crush.

Later at school, Taiki chatted with his friend Kyo when he received a text from Chinatsu, telling him he had mistakenly grabbed her uniform. She asked him to meet her before gym class, and Taiki suggested the AV room.

On his way there, Taiki was stopped by his teammate Haryu, who insisted on dragging him to a midday practice. Taiki, however, had somewhere else to be.

When Haryu questioned if something could be more important than badminton, Taiki apologized and quickly rushed to the AV room. However, he finds the rhythm gymnastics team, led by Hina, occupying the space. When he accidentally dropped Chinatsu’s uniform, Hina was disgusted, believing it was his dirty laundry, and shooed him away.

Taiki wandered, wondering where to meet Chinatsu until she texted him to meet on the rooftop. There, she thanked him for bringing her uniform. Taiki urged her to hurry to class as the bell rang, but she was shocked when she began changing clothes in front of him. Chinatsu explained she didn’t have time to reach the gym to change.

Flustered, Taiki turned away, his heart pounding with every sound she made. When she finished, she thanked him for waiting and headed to class. Taiki, however, remained behind, pondering how unaware she seemed of the situation. He resolved to work on his manliness, feeling he needed to grow.

Haryu was confident they’d perform well, setting a goal for Taiki to reach the top 16 singles the following week. Taiki, feeling stronger, considered aiming for the top eight or four. When Haryu reminded him that he’d forgotten his racket bag, Taiki rushed back to retrieve it.

At home, Taiki watched his mother pack his things for the tournament, reflecting on their similarities. When he spilled water on his uniform, his mom scolded him. That night, unable to calm his nerves, Taiki went outside to practice. Chinatsu found him there and asked why he was training so late.

She noticed his shirt was inside out, and when he corrected it, she blushed, which was an odd reaction, considering her nonchalance about changing earlier.

Chinatsu commented on his abs and encouraged Taiki to relax and show everyone his skills. Before heading inside, she reminded him he still had two years of high school left. Her words stirred something in Taiki, and he realized that she would be gone in two years. Feeling unsatisfied, he bid her good night.

Taiki and Haryu breezed through their doubles matches the next day, advancing to the best 16. Haryu reassured Taiki that he had nothing to worry about as long as they were together.

While Haryu signed forms, Taiki noticed a loud player on the opposite court, Kishi Shoichiro, Haryu’s former doubles partner. Kishi accused Haryu of breaking a promise to introduce him to Chinatsu, whom Kishi had admired since she helped him at a school festival.

Kishi challenged Haryu to a match, demanding Chinatsu’s phone number if he won. However, Kishi’s partner fell ill, disqualifying them. Haryu then agrees to share Chinatsu's number if he manages to defeat Taiki.
