A brief recap of Blue Exorcist Season 4 episode 2
Blue Exorcist Season 4 Episode 2 started with a conversation between Lightning and Shura about how the Illuminati have recently been targeting demons with immortality. However, Shura didn't pay much attention to Lightning's words and simply mentioned that her contracted demon was not immortal.
The episode then cuts to Yukio entering an abandoned building while pondering how to become stronger than Rin. Yukio eventually decides to investigate his peculiar eyes, which have been indicating the awakening of some kind of power since the previous arcs.
Yukio tries to trigger his powers by enacting life-threatening situations, such as drowning himself, but to no avail. Eventually, he leaps off a building to activate his powers, passing out only to wake up to the aftermath of his abilities having been triggered.
Confused, Yukio then attempts to shoot himself with his gun to draw out the power of the demon supposedly dwelling within him. The episode ends with Rin and Yukio receiving a rather ominous phone call.
