With the release of Blue Lock chapter 219, fans got to witness Isagi analyze Niko's meta vision and learn how the latter dealt with it. Given that this was Isagi's first encounter with a meta vision user in his opponent, he quickly needed to understand how Niko would use it.

The previous chapter saw Isagi explaining to Niko about meta vision as it was the first time he had used it. Thus, Isagi was left feeling cautious about more meta vision users, while Kaiser asked Ness to support him as he was prepared to dominate the field. But soon after, Kunigami stole the ball away from Ness and charged towards the goal.

Blue Lock chapter 219, titled Dynamism, opened with Kunigami charging towards the goal with the ball as he hoped to dribble past everyone. With three more defenders in front of Kunigami, Isagi was positive the former was about to lose the ball, which was when he needed to grab it from him. However, at the same time, Niko could also see the future, and hence he aimed for the same spot.

After Kunigami feinted and dribbled past a few more players, Isagi and Niko reached the spot where Kunigami could lose the ball. While Niko believed that it was a 50-50 chance for either of them to steal the ball, Raichi Jingo blocked him, allowing Isagi to steal the ball.

Isagi could see how Ikki Niko was only focused on predicting the future and himself, hence he was unaware of Raichi who was after him. He could also see Raichi's movements, which is why he lured Niko to follow him rather than check behind him. Thus, Isagi came to the conclusion that Niko's use of his eyes and brain was still second-rate.

With only two more defenders in front of him, Isagi used Kurona Ranze to get past them with a one-two-lob pass. As Isagi reached the goal and was about to score, Aiku blocked his path. Oliver Aiku had also attained meta vision and could predict the future. He knew that Isagi's secondary weapon, i.e., the lefty direct shoot was a bluff considering that it only had about 40% accuracy of that of his right foot.

Even Yoichi Isagi, in his monologue, admitted that his left foot was a work-in-progress and he could only score with it when he had a good angle or the goal was wide open. This meant that Aiku had effectively stopped him by detecting his bluff. When he had no other way to attack, Yukimiya came to help him from the right wing.

Final thoughts on Blue Lock chapter 219

Blue Lock chapter 219 saw the emergence of another meta vision user, bringing the match to two meta vision users on each team. With the possibility of more meta vision users, the game could go in either direction. As for Isagi, he may have to rely on his teammates a bit more if he wants to win against Ubers.
