With the release of Blue Lock chapter 261, the manga series revealed Michael Kaiser's past and the origin of his football career. While fans majorly focused on his dark, tragic past in the backstory chapters, the manga chapters also revealed the reason behind Kaiser's partnership with Alexis Ness.
Since the start of the Neo Egoist League Arc, fans have noticed that he was often treated poorly despite Ness following Kaiser around. This forced fans to wonder why Ness put up with Kaiser's antics. While the answer to that question was revealed through Ness's backstory, up until now, the manga never revealed why Kaiser chose Ness.
Thus, with the developments in Blue Lock chapter 261, the manga series finally explained what made Ness an exception in Kaiser's eyes.

Blue Lock chapter 261: Why did Michael Kaiser choose Alexis Ness as his partner?

Michael Kaiser chose Alexis Ness as his partner as he needed a partner (dog) willing to submit to his malice.
As seen in Blue Lock chapter 261, when Ray Dark took Michael Kaiser to the Bastard Munchen Training Clubhouse, he was treated kindly by his new acquaintance. However, Kaiser did not know how to receive goodwill. For him, living as a target of malice was much easier.

Unfortunately for Kaiser, football is a game played by 11 people, and the hated people do not receive passes. Hence, to succeed in the environment, Kaiser needed to develop an ability that would allow him to fight on his own. With that in mind, Kaiser created the Kaiser Impact Point shot, a weapon that proved his existence and left an impact.
Despite the overwhelming weapon, Kaiser still needed someone to pass the ball to him. With that in mind, Kaiser started looking for a "dog" to submit to his malice. During the Bastard Munchen tryouts, Kaiser took note of Alexis Ness. He was a player with good dribbling, passing, and creativity, which Kaiser could use.
However, above all such abilities, the factor that made Ness catch Kaiser's eye was his isolation.

If fans remember Alexis Ness's backstory, no person in his family supported his obsession with magic and the impossible hence he was very lonely. This loneliness saw Ness questioning his abilities. He had no moral support and was physically incapable of competing with the other competitors. Such a realization made Ness depressed, and Michael Kaiser offered him his hand in forming a partnership.
Hence, the moment when Michael Kaiser extended his offer for a partnership, Alexis Ness no longer felt alone. Moreover, Michael Kaiser's Kaiser Impact Point was marvelous, something he could rely on to win matches. Hence, Ness easily submitted to Kaiser's malice and became his partner.
