With the release of Blue Lock chapter 263, the manga series saw Michael Kaiser finally changing his ego as he was no longer held down by the layers he had assigned himself to protect his position at Bastard Munchen. Instead, he was open to passing to his teammates to create the perfect goalscoring opportunity.
The previous chapter saw Yoichi Isagi planning to devour Kaiser by hurling abuse at him. While the plan worked initially, Kaiser soon broke it down as he reflected on his actions. He realized that if he wanted to upgrade himself, he needed to strip away all of his glory and become "zero" again.

Blue Lock chapter 263: Kaiser thanks Isagi

Blue Lock chapter 263, titled 'Borderline,' opened with Yoichi Isagi noticing Michael Kaiser's change in movements. Just then, Kurona Ranze called out to him to create an attack. This saw Isagi teaming up with Kurona and Hiori to formulate an attack. Tabito Karasu tried stopping them but failed.
Later, when the ball was headed toward Hiori Yo, Michael Kaiser intercepted it. Isagi realized that Kaiser had actually changed as he would normally target just him, but now he had begun assessing the entire field and had started meta-pressing. Upon seeing this, Alexis Ness planned on joining Kaiser, but the German striker passed the ball to Raichi Jingo, hoping for a one-two pass.

No one expected this move, as Kaiser was known for only passing the ball to the original Bastard Munchen players. However, in order to upgrade himself, Kaiser wished to strip down all the layers he had created within the team. Hence, Kaiser pleaded with Raichi to pass the ball back to him. Raichi Jingo found Kaiser's move cute. Hence, he passed the ball back, hoping to gain an assist from Kaiser's possible goal.
Unfortunately, Michael Kaiser's path was blocked by Rin Itoshi, who stole the ball away from him. Kaiser had too much to gain from this experience despite the minor failure. He realized this was a turning point in his career as he could deconstruct and reconstruct his identity. With that in mind, Kaiser thanked Yoichi Isagi for stealing his freedom and forcing him to take this path.

Around the same time, Raichi Jingo stole back the ball from Rin and passed it to Kunigami Rensuke. These developments shocked Tabito Karasu as Paris X Gen was already at a standstill due to Ryusei Shidou's absence from the match. Over that, Isagi and Kaiser changed a lot during the match, making it a tough job for the France team.
Hiori Yo was elated by the developments. With Isagi playing as the center forward with his two-gun direct volley and Kaiser playing as a second striker with his Kaiser Impact, Bastard Munchen had two cannons they could use. With that, it was the first time in the Neo Egoist League that both Kaiser and Isagi's weapons had begun resonating.
In the meantime, Blue Lock chapter 263 saw Kiyora Jin carefully analyzing the field as he wished to make himself shine.
