With the release of Blue Lock chapter 282, the manga series saw Yoichi Isagi deduce the relationship between geniuses and talented learners. Previously, he believed that geniuses were above talented learners. But in the latest chapter, he realized that there was no hierarchy between them.
The previous manga chapter saw Ego Jinpachi explaining the formula of evolution to Anri Teieri. As per him, the geniuses and talented learners shared the same stage. This meant that Isagi could still evolve. The manga later saw Isagi realizing that Kaiser was the same as him.

Blue Lock chapter 282: Isagi challenges Rin with a new awakening
Blue Lock chapter 282, titled Need You, opened with Yoichi Isagi realizing that Michael Kaiser was a talented learner just like him. Everything Kaiser had done up until now, even including the Kaiser Impact Point shot, could be explained and was not incomprehensible.
Moments later, Isagi remembers his analogy about the world-type and self-type ego players. As per his new analogy, the talented learners were world-type players, doing things that would make sense to the world. As for the geniuses, they were self-type players.
However, unlike what Isagi previously believed, geniuses weren't a step above talented learners when it came to hierarchy. The two-player types effectively shared an equal relationship, one where they would stimulate each other side by side. This is also evident from how Isagi's presence helped Rin break past his barriers.
With his mind finally clearing, Yoichi Isagi needed to do what Kaiser did to awaken himself. Considering that Kaiser let go of his fixation on trying to best Isagi, the protagonist decided to let go of his fixations as well. This included his rivalries with Rin Itoshi and Michael Kaiser, and his admiration for Noel Noa. The only emotion he needed was the one he possessed before any of his fixations emerged: his desire to win.
Blue Lock chapter 282 then switched back to the match as Julian Loki charged at Bastard Munchen's goal with Noel Noa tailing him. While Raichi Jingo and Hiori Yo arrived to cut off his path, Loki passed the ball to Rin Itoshi. Just as Rin received the pass, Igarashi Gurimu arrived to block his path. However, this time, Rin did not collide with Igaguri but instead dribbled past his malicia with ease.
Right after, Rin Itoshi was confronted by the two Bastard Munchen center-backs Birkenstock and Mensah. While they tried to block his path as well, Rin effectively forced his way past them using his monstrous playstyle. Just then, Yoichi Isagi arrived to stop Rin with his new awakening. Given that Rin was the monster of the geniuses, Isagi vowed to become the monster of the talented learners.
