Blue Lock chapter 283: Isagi and Kaiser's chemical reaction defeats Rin as Gagamaru keeps the match alive

With the release of Blue Lock chapter 283, fans finally got to witness what they had been waiting for since the start of the Neo Egoist League Arc, i.e., the chemical reaction between Yoichi Isagi and Michael Kaiser. In addition, the manga saw Gagamaru Gin save Bastard Munchen as the Star Change System was close to its end.

The previous chapter saw Isagi realizing that Kaiser was a talented learner just like him. Right after, he realized how the geniuses and talented learners were on the same stage and did not follow a hierarchy. Thus, after letting go of all his fixations, Isagi went after Rin to stop his monster attack.

Blue Lock chapter 283: Isagi sacrifices himself to stop Rin

Blue Lock chapter 283, titled Desperate Defense, picked up from where the previous chapter ended as Rin Itoshi tried to dribble the ball past Birkenstock and Mensah. Just as the Star Change System was about to conclude, Yoichi Isagi arrived to stop Rin with his newly awakened form.

Just as Rin spotted Isagi, he dashed away from the two Bastard Munchen center backs and matched up against Isagi. Isagi knew that Rin would not want to pass up an opportunity to devour him. Hence, he drew the Paris X Gen striker toward himself. With that, he tried to stick in his feet to steal the ball. However, Rin Itoshi performed a quick La Croqueta to his right foot and shot the ball toward the goal.

Just as Rin began to celebrate his victory over his rival, Isagi dragged him back to reality. Isagi had willingly become a sacrificial pawn so that Michael Kaiser could block the shot. With that, Isagi stated that the only way to stab a genius was a chemical reaction between two talented learners. Even Rin was left shocked by this development, as he never expected Isagi to willingly be devoured to defeat him.

As for Rin's shot, while Kaiser was able to reach it with his foot, he wasn't able to block it completely. Instead, the shot deflected off his foot and was headed towards the goal's frame.

At that moment, Gagamaru Gin could do nothing but hope that the ball did not go directly into the goal. Just as the ball bounced off the post and the goal line, Gagamaru made a Bearclaw save that the ball be sent out of bounds. With that, the Bastard Munchen goalkeeper kept the match alive.

As seen in the chapter, the Star Change System was counting down its final 10 seconds. Hence, the next chapter will see the two Master Strikers Noel Noa and Julian Loki, head back to the bench. Following that, fans can possibly witness the two talented learners team up against Rin Itoshi and Ryusei Shidou to score the final goal.
