With the release of Blue Lock chapter 284, the manga saw Yoichi Isagi prepare to sell his soul to become the world's best. Up until now, Isagi and other Blue Lock players were only concerned about doing things by themselves. But Isagi had gone a step above with his ego. On top of that, he also suggested a team-up with Michael Kaiser.
The previous chapter saw Yoichi Isagi confront Rin Itoshi for the ball. Just as Rin placed his shot, Isagi revealed that he planned on getting devoured so that Kaiser could block his shot. Unfortunately, the shot grazed off Kaiser's foot and was headed for the goal's frame. Just then, Gagamaru Gin made a super save to keep Bastard Munchen alive.

Blue Lock chapter 284: Isagi prepares to sell his soul
Blue Lock chapter 284, titled Soul, opened with the world cheering for Gagamaru after he made the super-save. In the meantime, Hiori Yo went over to Isagi and asked him how much of the situation he had calculated. Surprisingly, Isagi had calculated everything except for Gagamaru's save.
Hiori was amazed at this as he never thought Isagi would use himself as a sacrificial pawn. However, this was the answer Isagi had come up with to defeat the geniuses. If he was going to be devoured anyway, it was better to eliminate his personal feelings. With that, Isagi declared that going forward, he was prepared to sell his soul to win.
Rin Itoshi believed that, as a striker, being happy at stopping a single shot was very tepid. However, Isagi instantly retorted stating that he did not just stop a shot but had rewritten the future. Everyone wanted Rin Itoshi to score the final goal and be declared the new hero; however, Isagi destroyed that future.
Just then, Blue Lock chapter 284 saw the Star Change System come to an end. Hence, both Julian Loki and Noel Noa were to step out of the field. Just as Julian Loki was leaving, he could be seen sighing about how he had joined the match as it seemed fun. However, with Rin failing to score from his pass, he doubted whether Japan could actually create a world-class striker.
Yoichi Isagi instantly retorted to Loki's comments. He asked Loki to shut up and accept his defeat with grace. He and Kaiser had crushed the vision he had seen of Rin scoring a goal. With that, Isagi also called Julian Loki an arrogant person who just happened to be born with fast legs.
With Loki feeling insulted, Noel Noa arrived to stop Isagi as his comments would get televised worldwide. However, Isagi did not want to hear a word from the Master Striker after he used him as a stepping stone for Michael Kaiser's awakening. Right after, Isagi made the bold declaration to win the next World Cup.
Just as the world reacted to Isagi's war declaration against his own coach, Isagi shifted his focus on what he needed to do next. Isagi wanted to defeat Rin Itoshi. Considering that he was only able to think this way due to Kaiser, Isagi proposed a team-up with the German striker to end the Neo Egoist League.
