Blue Lock season 2 episode 7 was released on November 16, 2024. The episode saw both teams score a goal in the ongoing match as the tension rose on each side. However, the spotlight of the episode was Nagi's trap shot goal where he trapped two defenders and scored an unrealistic goal that made the fans hopeful for a better adaptation in the remaining episodes.

However, even though the goal seemed unrealistic, a real-life person made it possible in an unofficial match. A clip posted by an X user (@DbsContents) featured a local match focused on the penalty box. As the ball reached the box, a player flicked the ball and did a 360-turn to score a goal, recreating Nagi's trap shot.

Blue Lock: Was Nagi's trap shot re-created in reality?

The second half of Blue Lock season 2 episode 7 saw Team Blue-Lock down by one goal after Itoshi Sae scored from a corner for the U-20 Japan team. As the game went by, the ball eventually landed into the feet of Nagi Seishiro.

Instead of taking a predictable shot, the Team Blue-Lock player adapted and stopped the ball in one of his feet, while trapping two defenders around him. Nagi then tapped the ball on the other side, taking a 360-degree turn, and smashing the ball inside the goal net with a mid-air kick. The shot shocked everyone to silence, including the fans who branded it as an 'unrealistic but beautiful' shot.

However, the might was recreated by an unknown player in a match in an unknown league. Instead of stopping the ball, the player flicked it and followed the exact same procedure as Nagi's trap shot, scoring a beautiful goal.

Upon proving their allegation wrong, the fandom was taken aback by such an amazing re-creation that is hardly believable.

Reaction from the fandom

Where the majority of the fans hailed this unknown football player as a genius, one fan took his praise to the cameraman who recorded such an amazing goal right on time. Moreover, as expected, the fans were taken aback because no one even considered Nagi's shot worth re-creating due to its difficulty.

Some fans even asked how they could recreate such an incredible shot, showing the player's goal created curiosity among the fans. Last, the fans were surprised to know this shot was recreated in a recent match as indicated by the X user's description.

"What surprised me the most is the perfect timing of the cameraman, like bro said: hmmm I'm willing to record this match and get insane clip like this I guess" a fan said
"Bro what!' another fan said
"The league match was recent? I thought it was an old clip" another one said
"How can I make that combo" another fan asked

Final thoughts

While there is no telling when the clip of the goal was recorded or when this match took place, the re-creation of Nagi's unrealistic trap shot indicated that there is still a lot of football talent in the world (other than the professional world).

Where this shot was the only animation sequence that had the fans hoping for a good animation in the remaining episode of Blue Lock season 2, there is no telling what the future holds and fans can only hope for the best.
