With the premiere of Blue Lock season 2 finale, fans were left impressed after watching the climax of the U-20 Japan National Team vs. Blue Lock match. Most fans were left elated after witnessing 8bit's treatment of Rin Itoshi and Sae Itoshi's final match-up scene. The scenes not only looked something out of a movie but were also purely 2D animated.
However, it seems like one fan in particular loved Yoichi Isagi's match-winning goal a lot more. This is because she announced her marriage to the anime protagonist on TikTok a day after the anime's finale premiered, having reportedly married a cardboard cutout of Isagi. Anime fans online had a lot to express about the recent event.
How did the Blue Lock fan get married to Yoichi Isagi?
As revealed by netizens, a Japanese girl on TikTok allegedly got married to Yoichi Isagi by using a cardboard cut-out of the character. The image for the cut-out was from a visual displayed at an Exhibition back in Spring 2023. The exhibition visual featured several Blue Lock characters dressed up as grooms.
Besides Yoichi Isagi, the visual featured other characters like Meguru Bachira, Chigiri Hyouma, Kunigami Rensuke, Rin Itoshi, Shoei Barou, Reo Mikage, and Seishiro Nagi. Out of them, the TikTok user chose Yoichi Isagi to get married to, after he scored the winning goal against the U-20 Japan National Team.
This is not the first time a person has married an inanimate object. Previously, there had been reports about a man marrying a Hatsune Miku robot and a woman marrying a Robert Pattinson cut-out.
Fans' reaction to the Blue Lock fan's marriage to Isagi
Many fans were supportive of the anime fan for marrying their favorite character. As they too wanted to marry their favorite characters, they did not find it right to criticize others for what they wanted to do themselves.
Meanwhile, another fan joked about their marriage as to how Yoichi Isagi would be able to adapt to his wife's mood no matter what happened. This was a nod to the character being excellent at adaptability.
"IT SHOULD BE ME NOT HER," one fan said.
"I don’t blame her, I’d do the same with multiple anime characters tbh," another fan said.
"Whatever her mood He Can Adapt well..," another fan said.
"Don't tell me this is the reason for Japan's population drop," another said.
"This person and the Hatsune Miku guy should meet," other fan said.
Some fans criticized the marriage as Japan was already experiencing a drop in population. Marriage to an inanimate object appeared to them like a poor idea as it could incentivize others to take the same route, further diminishing the population in the country.
Lastly, some fans compared this event to the one time a man got married to a Hatsune Miku robot. They wished that the two people would meet each other.
