Blue Lock season 2: Who is Michael Kaiser?
Michael Kaiser is a U-20 forward from Germany who plays for Bastard Munchen. Similar to Sae Itoshi, he is considered a member of the New Generation World XI and is Bastard Munchen's ace and main striker.
In Blue Lock's Neo Egoist League Arc, Kaiser will take on an antagonistic role from the moment he is introduced. The story arc sees Yoichi Isagi join the U-20 Bastard Munchen team as part of Blue Lock's second phase. However, from the moment, Isagi meets Kaiser, they form a rocky relationship.
As the team's ace, Kaiser belittled Isagi, hoping to incite a reaction from him. He believed that Blue Lock's Neo Egoist League was only an interlude for him. Thus, he wanted Isagi to entertain him, while trying to dethrone him from his position as Bastard Munchen's ace.
What is the Neo Egoist League?
Neo Egoist League is the Blue Lock Program's second phase that pits the Blue Lock players into the U-20 sides of the best teams from Europe's top five countries. Each player will have to compete for a spot in the playing eleven and partake in a round-robin tournament against the other teams.
However, the league's goal isn't just to create an exciting tournament but also to help in the selection of Japan's U-20 World Cup team. This means that the players will be ranked based on their performances in the matches, and only the top 23 players will be picked for the World Cup squad.
As for the matches, they do not have a set time limit. Instead, the match ends when one team scores three goals. This promotes fast plays, creating exciting battles with every match-up. Speaking of substitutions, teams are allowed to make unlimited changes and one Star Change. The Star Change System allows a team to field in their Master Striker for three minutes.
Effectively, the Neo Egoist League is meant to help the Blue Lock players get a chance to play at Europe's highest level before they step onto the world stage during the upcoming U-20 World Cup tournament.
