Blue Lock season 2 episode 11, titled What You Taught Us, premiered on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:30 pm JST. While fans have been largely disappointed with the ongoing season, 8bit delivered their best animated episode with Blue Lock season 2 episode 11.

Following the previous episode, which saw Sae Itoshi and Ryusei Shidou combine to score the equalizer for U-20 Japan with the Dragon Drive shot, fans were eager to see what would come next. Shockingly, the new episode featured an even more outrageous goal by the forward. To top it off, it was the best animated scene from the second season till now.

Blue Lock season 2 episode 11 review: 8bit shocks fans with production quality for Shidou's Big Bang Drive

As seen in Blue Lock season 2 episode 11, the anime episode majorly focused on Flow as Ryusei Shidou and Oliver Aiku tapped into the mental state.

However, unlike Oliver Aiku, which seemed like a setup for the next episode, 8bit delved deeply into Ryusei Shidou's Flow, materializing all his thoughts before and during the event. The best part is that these moments were adapted really well, possibly even surpassing the manga in its adaptation.

Speaking of Ryusei Shidou's Big Bang Drive goal, the scene possibly featured the best animation and OST throughout the entire season. While fans were aware of Shidou's OST till now, what played in the latest episode was entirely different, something that reminded fans of something divine or otherworldly.

As for animation, it was fluid where it needed to be and had the best impact frames to depict the sheer force of Shidou's bicycle kick from outside the penalty box. If that wasn't enough, Shidou's facial expressions after the shot were animated too immaculately.

8bit surprises fans with glimpses of brilliance

Up until now, 8bit had primarily animated the standout moments of each episode well, while the rest of the episode featured subpar animation. However, that was surprisingly not the case for the anime's latest episode.

While the animation wasn't perfect, it was far better than what was shown in the other episodes. Two noteworthy scenes featured Shoei Barou and Yukimiya Kenyu. Unlike previous episodes, which often relied on panning some artwork across the screen, this time anime actually animated the players moving around. To top it off, the drawings were quite good, expressing the players' emotions perfectly.

As fans may remember, when the Blue Lock anime first started showing poor animation, many believed that 8bit had saved its best production quality for the U-20 match. While that was not the case, it seems like fans were onto something, as the series has slowly been showing more well-animated scenes as it approaches its conclusion.

With only three more episodes left in the anime season, fans should expect the best animation by 8bit for the upcoming three episodes.
