Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 12: Reo Mikage copies Seishiro Nagi

Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 12, titled Flower, opened with Oliver Aiku's backstory. As revealed by the anime, the U-20 Japan National team captain was previously a forward. However, instead of scoring goals, his task was to do post-up plays to help other forwards. Unsatisfied with his role, he asked his coach to allow him to play another role. Unfortunately, the coach denied his request.
As time passed, while Oliver Aiku won trophies with his team, he no longer believed he could become the world's best striker. The elders only allowed those flowers to bloom that fit their ideology. This effectively saw all forwards play the same way. Hence, Aiku set a new goal for himself, i.e., to become the world's best defender. Soon enough, he became the hottest prospect and was named the U-20 Japan National team Captain.

As for the match, Oliver Aiku, fueled by the flow state, stopped Blue Lock XI's attack singlehandedly. Sae Itoshi used this opportunity to start a counterattack for the U-20 Japan team. During this, Karasu faced off against Sae to buy some time for his defenders. Unfortunately, he couldn't hold off the midfielder for long as Sae made a long pass to Shidou. While Reo was there to cover him, Shidou managed to take a shot. Fortunately, Gagamaru stopped the goal with a miraculous Shachihoko pose save.
As the ball was still in play, Gagamaru wanted Reo to clear it out for a corner. However, Reo had other plans. Instead, of giving the ball away, he wanted to keep it. Hence, he copied Seishiro Nagi's tap-lift and turn to avoid two U-20 Japan National team forwards and passed the ball to Nagi. With that, Blue Lock XI began their counterattack. Isagi took a central role in this attack and used Karasu and Nagi to create the perfect play for a goalscoring opportunity.

Unfortunately, just as Isagi was going to score the equalizer, he was stopped by Sae Itoshi, who used a light tackle to leave forward off-balance. Just as Isagi felt hopeless, Rin Itoshi joined him, asking for a pass. With no other option left, Isagi passed the ball to Rin. Just then, out of nowhere, Shoei Barou arrived and stole the goal from Rin with a super sliding shot, equalizing the match's scoreline.
Isagi was confused about how Shoei Barou managed to pull this off. Thus, Barou explained that his plan to devour Isagi had been read by their opponents. Therefore, he decided to follow Rin's movements, who, in his eyes, was the same as Isagi. Right after, Barou received a booking for taking his shirt off during his celebration.
Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 12 ended with Sae Itoshi asking the U-20 Japan coach not to make any substitutions as his team was still fired up.
