On Friday, October 11, 2024, the official website of the Blue Lock anime unveiled the preview for Blue Lock season 2 episode 2. The anime episode, titled The Killer and The Ninja, will be released on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11:30 pm JST. It will be available to watch on Crunchyroll.

The previous episode saw Ego Jinpachi reveal how he intended to select the starting eleven for the match against the U-20 Japan team. The top six players were set to be the foundation for the team, while the remaining five players would be picked via a tryout that would allow the players to show their ability to assert and coexist alongside the top six players.

Blue Lock season 2 episode 2 will see Isagi feature in the first match in the Third Selection

As seen in the previous episode, Yoichi Isagi had opted to play in Team A alongside Rin Itoshi and Ryusei Shidou. While fans would have expected to wait and watch a few matches before Isagi gets his chance, that is not the case. This is because Isagi is set to feature in Third Selection's first match.

This match will effectively help fans see Ryusei Shidou play for the first time in the anime series. In doing so, fans might finally understand how the second-ranked striker was able to defeat Kunigami Rensuke. In addition, the anime episode could see Isagi trying to analyze his moves and try to coexist alongside him and Rin.

Blue Lock season 2 episode 2 will introduce fans to Hiori and Nanase

As shown in the preview images, Yoichi Isagi is set to be teamed up with Hiori Yo and Nanase Ninjiro in the Third Selection match. While the anime did give fans a glimpse of the two players previously, it never truly introduced them to the audience. Therefore, fans can expect the upcoming episode to introduce both players.

Fans should also note that while the characters have been present in the series for some time, they have yet to speak in the series. Hence, the upcoming episode will also see Eiji Mikami and Kakeru Hatano make their debuts as Hiori Yo and Nanase Nijiro, respectively.

Yoichi Isagi will face off against Chigiri, Karasu, and Otoya in Blue Lock season 2 episode 2

Another key detail from the preview is that as part of the Third Selection match, Yoichi Isagi's Team A is set to face off against Team B, featuring third and fourth-rank players Tabito Karasu and Otoya Eita. This development will allow fans to witness the weapons possessed by the two forwards.

Surprisingly, Chigiro Hyouma will also join them as he is set to be teamed up with them as part of the tryout match. This will be the second time Isagi and Chigiri face off against each other, the last time being back in the Second Selection.
