On Friday, November 8, 2024, the official website of the Blue Lock anime unveiled the preview for Blue Lock season 2 episode 6. The anime episode, titled The Big Stage, will be released on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:30 pm JST. The anime episode will be available to watch on Crunchyroll.
The previous episode saw Ego Jinpachi pick the start lineup for the Blue Lock Eleven Team. Following that, he explained the meaning of Flow to his players. Elsewhere, Sae Itoshi and Ryusei Shidou met their teammates in the Japan U-20 team. However, Shidou's personality saw him spark trouble within the squad from the get-go.

Blue Lock season 2 episode 6 will see Shidou be dropped for Sendo
As revealed by the preview synopsis, Oliver Aiku is set to speak with Sae Itoshi about Sendo Shuto and Ryusei Shidou. While the team wants to play with Sae, they want nothing to do with Shidou.
Sae wanted Sendo to be dropped for Shidou. However, given that Sendo was Japan's ace, the team was prepared to boycott the match if Shidou played.
Therefore, the upcoming episode will see the Japan U-20 team be forced to drop Ryusei Shidou to play their ace striker Sendo Shuto. With that, one can remain certain that the Blue Lock striker will not start for the Japan team and will be sidelined to the substitutes bench.
Ego Jinpachi might reveal the substitutes for Blue Lock Eleven
As seen in the previous episode, Ego Jinpachi had only revealed the starting eleven for the Blue Lock Eleven team. With that, he asked the remaining players to show their worth in the following two weeks to grab a spot on the substitutes bench. This is because the team was only allowed to register 23 players, which meant that there were open spots for only 12 substitutes.
The anime has yet to hint at which players will be given the substitute spots. However, it is to be presumed that characters like Shoei Barou, Reo Mikage, Igarashi Gurimu, Raichi Jingo, Hiori Yo, Nanase Nijiro, and Aoshi Tokimitsu will receive a spot on the bench.
Blue Lock season 2 episode 6 might showcase Oliver Aiku's defensive abilities
Up until now, the Blue Lock anime only saw strikers going up against strikers within the facility. This meant that it had been some time since the players went up against actual defenders. Considering that the Japan U-20 team was known for its defense, the anime could emphasize the same by glorifying the team's defenders.
Amongst them, Oliver Aiku has been hyped up as the most skilled defender. Therefore, the upcoming episode will likely showcase his skills while going up against Yoichi Isagi. With that, the anime could establish a match-up between the two players.
