On Friday, November 22, 2024, the official website of the Blue Lock anime unveiled the preview for Blue Lock season 2 episode 8. Titled Blue Genes, the anime episode will be released on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11:30 pm JST. It will be available to watch on Crunchyroll.

The previous anime episode saw Sae Itoshi score the opening goal for Japan U-20 after the team failed to score. Following this, the anime saw Blue Lock initiate their nuclear attack. The series of goal attempts was followed by Seishiro Nagi's super goal, which equalized the match's score.

As revealed by the preview synopsis, following Seishiro Nagi's equalizer, only 15 minutes will remain in the match's first half. That's when the two Itoshi siblings—Rin and Sae—will finally match up against each other.

Considering how Sae Itoshi abandoned their shared dream, Rin has long wanted to take down his brother. Thus, the anime will likely see Rin obsessing over his brother and trying to steal the ball away from him to the best of his abilities.

Unfortunately, his efforts are expected to be in vain, as Sae will win the fierce sibling confrontation and break past Rin through the center of the field.

Ikki Niko will stop Japan U-20's attack in Blue Lock season 2 episode 8

As explained in the preview synopsis, after Sae Itoshi breaks past Rin, he is set to join the Japan U-20 team to form an avalanche of attacks against Blue Lock XI. In the midst of all this, center-back Ikki Niko is set to remember Ego Jinpachi's player instructions to him. He was to use his field of vision and stop Sae Itoshi's passes to his teammates.

With that in mind, the upcoming episode will see Ikki Niko calmly use his weapon to analyze and spot all the players located in dangerous positions. Right after, he could likely stop Japan U-20's attack with an impressive defensive clearance.

While the preview synopsis indicates that Japan U-20 is going to attack in the next episode, the preview images suggest otherwise. Considering the number of Blue Lock XI players shown as part of the preview images, there is a good chance that the episode will see the team initiate a counterattack.

Such a series of actions could see Chigiri Hyouma, Yoichi Isagi, Rin Itoshi, and other Blue Lock XI players combine to score a super goal. However, with no mention of a goal, it is difficult to predict which of the attackers will score the goal.
