My Hero Academia season 8 was announced on October 12, 2024, after the premiere of the prequel's finale episode. The sequel will feature the final moments of Deku and Class 1-A in the final war, as they go against the absolute evil, All for One, and Shigaraki. The fandom is expecting Studio Bones to go all out in this last stretch.

As the final sequel is announced for 2025 (no release window announced), the production team would have enough time for preparation. Considering how season 7 received great critical reviews from every perspective, the same is expected from the finale.

Studio Bones' maintaining a consistent animation quality from season 1, combined with the overall hype of season 8 being the final season of the series, would make My Hero Academia season 8 generational. The only thing that might disappoint the fandom could be a delay, the chances of which are low, as this has never happened since the anime adaptation started.

Why My Hero Academia season 8 might be the best one from the anime adaptation

The series' season 7 started the final war arc, where the heroes' side went against the villains in an all-out war. Although the start of the war was the best one for the heroes, with Deku being transported somewhere away from the battlefield, he later returned and engaged in a battle with the MVP of the final war, TomurAFO.

The sequel also saw some sentimental moments, like Bakugo's lethal injury against TomurAFO and Aoyama's revelation as the U.A. traitor. However, the plotline didn't halt, and the sequel ended with the heroes continuing their fight against the villains— who received assistance from some old villains— as they fought against All for One and Tomura Shigaraki.

During the airing of this sequel, the series' manga concluded, and this was followed by the announcement of My Hero Academia season 8, which would feature the final chapters. So, the question remains whether Studio Bones, the series' animation studio since season 1, will mess up the final stretch or make it generational. The answer might be obvious, and the series' run is the proof.

Since the first season of the anime adaptation, the series animation has been reportedly great, and Studio Bones' commitment to it has been consistent. Be it the famous All Might vs Nomu fight in season 1 or the Deku vs TomurAFO fight in season 7, My Hero Academia season 8 might be similar but as it is the finale, the animation quality might tone up a notch as well.

Another factor to consider might be the success of the latest movie, My Hero Academia: You're Next, which enjoyed great success, just like the previous movies. So, Bones' sustained love for the series might be the reason for My Hero Academia season 8 to be something special, and potentially, the best sequel of the series.

Final thoughts

The delays in the sequel are mostly due to production problems, and as Studio Bones has never delayed a sequel of My Hero Academia due to such issues, it is expected that the same wouldn't happen for the final season.

The fandom can therefore keep their hopes high for the time when Deku and his friends will end the final war and return peace to the world.
