Boruto Two Blue Vortex could be considered the redemption for the entire sequel franchise considering how it has brought back the true fandom, that supported Naruto. Not only this, the sequel series also got a burst in its following with the fandom finally considering giving it its due respect and some even considering it the future face of Shonen Jump.

All of this indicates that the series' protagonist might be becoming the next Goku of the anime community. Not only is the former protagonist brimming with popularity like the Dragon Ball protagonist, but he also received some buffs post-time-skip which made him, arguably, the strongest character of his series.

Why Boruto's increasing popularity might make him the next Goku from Dragon Ball

Boruto Uzumaki is the protagonist of the Boruto franchise and the son of Naruto Uzumaki. In Naruto Next Generations, the protagonist didn't gain much of a spotlight in his own show and was showcased as a weak character. However, at the end of the show, the Omnipotence Incident changed everything for the protagonist when he was labeled as a traitor by his own village.

Having a new start in Two Blue Vortex, the protagonist returned to the village as an overpowered beast who outclassed Code without even trying. Following this, he continued beating every antagonist that came his way, indicating that his days as a boring and weak protagonist were over. Another thing that was over was the series' bad reputation.

The series that was one of the most dropped ones suddenly started gaining clout amongst the fandom and the bright days of the Boruto had finally started. This led to the fandom branding the protagonist as the next Goku. Son Goku from the Dragon Ball franchise is one of the most famous characters in anime.

The prime example of this character's popularity is the 'can he beat Goku though' joke which took over the internet a few years ago and might still be present. The reason for this was Goku's popularity and his overpowered abilities which include his Super Saiyan transformations and the Ultra Instinct transformation.

Every criterion that made Goku the face of anime is being fulfilled by Boruto Uzumaki as the Two Blue Vortex has a surging popularity. Moreover, the return of the protagonist was also followed by him becoming exceptionally powerful, hinting that the future isn't far away when the fandom could start comparing every character with the protagonist.

Take this article just as a piece of entertainment. Goku's reputation is the result of his presence which was cherished by the fandom for decades. Naruto's son becoming the next face of anime might be a possibility but it would take more than just some years to accomplish such a feat.
