As fans might remember, at the beginning of the Boruto anime, the protagonist revealed how he did not wish to be a Hokage like his father Naruto Uzumaki and grandfather Minato Namikaze. Instead, he aspired to play the role of the Shadow Hokage like his master Sasuke Uchiha.
While at the time it was only a dream based on his admiration for his master, over time, Boruto Uzumaki has truly embodied the role of a Shadow Hokage like his Master. This analogy was further fortified in the latest chapter when Kashin Koji explained to the protagonist why they could not reveal the future to everyone.

Boruto's role as a Singularity has him play a similar role to Shadow Hokage
With both, Boruto's father and grandfather sharing the same dream of becoming a Hokage and bringing it to fruition, most people believed that the protagonist would also take a similar route.
However, when Sarada Uchiha asked him about the same, the Seventh Hokage's son revealed that he did not aspire to become a Hokage. For him, becoming a Hokage was only a path. What he truly aspired to become was a Shinobi like his Master Sasuke Uchiha, a Shadow Hokage who supported the Hokage and worked towards the good from behind the scenes.
As fate would have it, following the effects of Eida's Omnipotence Shinjutsu, the protagonist will now have to take on that role as one of the three Singularity of Fate.
With Kashin Koji's Prescience ability effectively allowing him to see all possible futures, the protagonist had a doubt that every fan might have had. Why don't they just reveal to future to everyone and work toward the best possible outcome together, making the process easier?
However, as explained by Kashin Koji, such a series of events was impossible. If too many people knew about the future, the future could branch out in unforeseeable ways, making it unpredictable. This is because after one learns about the future, there is no way they could act the same way they would have in the first place. Hence, given how risky it was to share the future with everyone, it was best not to reveal the same to everyone.
With that established, Kashin Koji suggested to Boruto that as Singularity of Fate, both of them needed to advance and aim for a good future. However, in this journey, they were only to aid the paths to good futures from the shadows.
As anyone could notice, the role of a Singularity is pretty similar to that of the Shadow Hokage. With Boruto, Kashin Koji, and Eida being the only three people who knew what would happen in the future, they were not to share the same with others but support them from behind the scenes. Hence, with the latest chapter, the manga proved that Boruto was destined for the role of the Shadow Hokage.
