Boruto fans have seen Himawari Uzumaki gain a lot of prominence during the Two Blue Vortex time skip, and now there are a lot of questions regarding what she could do in the story moving forward. There was a recent fan theory on X— made by a user @Acrolyx— that could provide hints about it, and one has to go back to the original series.

This theory highlights what Hagoromo said, during the events of Naruto, that there was a child who was going to be able to name all the Bijuus despite the fact they are reborn with different identities and personalities. Therefore, it is implied that Himawari could be this character in Boruto, and her first interaction with Kurama a few chapters ago in the manga could be evidence of this theory being true.

New Boruto theory suggests that Himawari is the child Hagoromo talked about in the original series

Back during the second part of Naruto, Hagoromo was seen talking about the prophecy of a blue-eyed youth who is going to name all the Bijuus and befriend them in a way that is going to make a major difference in the world. While the natural assumption is that the character he was talking about is Naruto, new evidence could suggest that it was Himawari.

An early example of that is how Himawari had Kurama reborn within her and knew his name from the get-go, which fits with what Hagoromo was stating. Moreover, there is the fact that she has blue eyes, much like her father, and having Kurama now could be a sign that she is going to start her destiny with the Bijuus, thus giving her a greater role to play in this story.

It is also worth pointing out that this plot point could have further developments in the coming chapters since the Shinju clones have attacked the Hidden Sand Village, which is where Shukaku lives. This situation could provide further context to Himawari's situation and how the series' overarching plot connects to her.

What this could mean for the story moving forward

If this proves to be true, Himawari is bound to have a vital role moving forward in Boruto. The idea that she was destined to befriend all the Bijuus seems to suggest that she is going to have to deal with a major threat, which is something that is likely to be connected with the Shinjuu clones since they stem from the chakra of the Ten-Tails.

It would also make sense for her character to have a special role to play when considering that she is the daughter of Naruto, who was already quite special to begin with, and Hinata, a member of the Hyuga clan. Therefore, she has a special heritage that could prove to be pivotal, especially if the Otsutsuki return to the plot in some shape or form.

Final thoughts

Himawari could have inherited Kurama because of a prophecy that Hagoromo talked about in Naruto, which could explain her increasing importance in the story. Moreover, it could make a lot of sense when considering her heritage and the different challenges that have been established with the Shinju clones in Boruto.
