As fans might remember, since the start of the Boruto manga, the series was ridiculed by fans of other series as they called it a downgrade from the original series, Naruto. This was majorly due to the anime series which was flooded with anime-original and filler content.

Regardless, many fans stayed loyal to the series, claiming that the series would get good after the time skip. However, others questioned such a possibility due to the series' pacing. Needless to say, the Boruto fans won this argument as since the start of the Two Blue Vortex manga, the plot has been looking really good.

How Boruto fans won with the time-skip

With the very first chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, the hype around the series was increased several times. This is because fans were left enthralled by the time-skip character designs of their favorite characters from the series. But something that left fans even more excited was the protagonist's growth over the time-skip.

Boruto not only created a new "Rasengan" called Rasengan Uzuhiko but also learned how to use the Flying Raijin Jutsu. To top it off, unlike what happened before the time skip, the protagonist was now strong enough to take down Code easily.

As for his relationship with other characters, the manga saw the protagonist have a moment with Sarada Uchiha where she happened to hug him after being overwhelmed with her feelings. In addition, the manga also saw Mitsuki go after the protagonist. Fortunately, the protagonist defeated him and reassured him that he was his "Sun."

Even the antagonist group in the Two Blue Vortex was far more interesting than the one in Naruto Next Generations. This is because the sentient God Trees were all based on characters that fans already knew about. Another exciting moment was when the God Trees picked their individual targets. These developments also saw Shinki, Gaara's son, become plot-relevant again.

If that wasn't enough, the new manga saw the Nine-Tailed Beast Kurama make his return. Surprisingly, after passing away in the previous manga, Kurama was reborn within Himawari Uzumaki. This development allowed Himawari to use Kurama powers and even use the Bijuu Bomb against the sentient God Tree Jura.

The new manga also introduced fans to a new overpowered ability, Kashin Koji's Prescience ability, using which he could see into the future. While fans were confused by all the foreshadowing done through the manga's opening scene, this ability effectively provided an answer for most doubts fans had about the series. To top it all off, a year after the manga began, the two main characters - Boruto and Kawaki have called a truce to fight their common enemy, the sentient God Trees.

So, yes, while it took really long for the time-skip to take effect, the manga fans won in the end.
