Boruto's eventual return to the Hidden Leaf Village has been a looming issue within the story since the beginning of Part 2. It was revealed that Eida's omnipotence managed to switch places between Kawaki and the protagonist. However, several characters, including Sarada, Himawari, and Shikamaru, have shown some resistance to it.

While they have resisted the altered memories, the majority of the Hidden Leaf Village still blames the protagonist for Naruto's "death." The story has already established Boruto as the only person with the power to oppose the Shinju. Given that he is set to be executed soon after his arrest, it is possible that a war could break out among the Hidden Leaf Village members over the protagonist.

The story of Two Blue Vortex began with Code's reintroduction, establishing that he was no longer the primary threat to the Hidden Leaf Village. The earlier chapters focused on the village's dynamics after Eida's jutsu was activated, revealing that while almost everyone's memories were altered, those closest to the protagonist still harbored doubts.

These doubts intensified after the protagonist became the sole person capable of saving the Hidden Leaf Village during Code's attack. The following chapters delved deeper into the villagers' doubts, effectively splitting Konoha between supporters of Kawaki and supporters of Boruto.

It has been established that Boruto is the only person currently influencing the fate of the world. Kashin Koji revealed that if the protagonist were to die, Kawaki would be devoured by the Divine Tree, leading to the end of the world. Given that Boruto is currently the only one capable of fighting the Shinju on a somewhat equal level, it is crucial for him to stay alive.

The village elders, who appeared in the earlier chapters of Part 2, revealed that the protagonist would be executed upon capture. Since Shikamaru is the current Hokage and is somewhat on the protagonist's side, it is possible that he could postpone the execution.

This would confirm Kawaki's suspicions about Shikamaru, potentially igniting a war over Boruto within the village. The protagonist's survival is guaranteed due to his status, but it remains to be seen what story decisions Kishimoto and Ikemoto will make to keep him alive.

Final Thoughts

Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14 will be released on September 20, 2024, and will be available for reading on Shueisha's MANGA Plus platform. Chapter 13 revealed many things, including Kashin Koji's direct involvement in the overall narrative, while also foreshadowing a potential new Shinju member.

The new member might be a version of Naruto, given the overwhelming similarity in their faces. Naruto is currently in the Daikokuten, and his death has not been hinted at in the story. Naruto returning as a Shinju would further deepen the mystery behind them and how they are created.
