Boruto has surprised a lot of people with the Two Blue Vortex time skip and, recently on Reddit, there were a lot of comparisons with the seinen masterpiece, Berserk. While this might be a shocking comparison to make, there are some similarities, and some of them are quite important moving forward with this series.
While some people can make an obvious similarity by the way Boruto and Guts are both missing an eye, things go a bit deeper with elements such as the Shinju clones, Kawaki's betrayal, and more. On the other hand, this could also suggest a potential dark twist for the series in the coming arcs, although this is mostly a theory and there is no certainty behind that.

Explaining how Boruto could have a dark twist inspired by Berserk
One of the first obvious similarities between the two series is that the protagonists are both swordsmen missing an eye and wandering around as people think they are a great calamity. Moreover, they were both betrayed by people they cared about (Griffith and Kawaki, respectively) and would want to get even to some degree, although Guts definitely is a lot more keen on revenge than Naruto's son.
There is also the fact that the Shinju clones do have some similarities to that of the Godhand since they are both groups of superior beings who try to play with humanity. Then there is also the fact that Kawaki and Griffith started as allies for the main character and went on to become one of the main antagonists of the series, although there are some differences between them.
Therefore, it can be argued that this series could take some inspiration from Berserk and have a dark conclusion. While this is a shonen series, which means that is not as dark as a seinen manga, there is an argument to be made that the protagonist could end up alone and have a bittersweet conclusion.
The main plot points of the series
There are several major plot points in the series at the moment, with the main one perhaps being Eida's Omnipotence, making people believe that the protagonist is a traitor and that Kawaki is Naruto's son. There is also the fact that Kawaki is attempting to take him down and hiding Naruto and Hinata while there is the growing threat of the Shinju clones.
The Shinju have become the biggest threat of the series at the moment, and their numbers continue to grow. It is difficult to gauge how that is going to pan out, but the truth of the matter is that the protagonist wants to save his parents and Sasuke, although that has proven to be extremely difficult given how he is portrayed as a traitor.
Final thoughts
There is an argument to be made that the coming arcs of Boruto could be inspired by the events of Berserk since there are some similarities between the two series at the moment. However, that is mere fan speculation at the moment and is difficult to ascertain if that is going to happen.
