Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga often focused on the protagonist's relationship with Momoshiki Otsutsuki. However, the sequel manga has yet to see the two Otsutsuki speak to each other. While this must have something to do with the protagonist trying not to use his Karma powers, the reason behind the decision hasn't yet been explained.

From what fans have theorized, the protagonist could be trying to stop using Karma altogether to eliminate any chance of Momoshiki taking control of his body. But what if Momoshiki isn't the only Otsutsuki associated with the protagonist? What if Boruto is the reincarnation of Shibai Otsutsuki? While the manga has yet to suggest the possibility, such a development could adversely affect Momoshiki's existence.

How can Shibai Otsutsuki spell doom for Momoshiki in Boruto?

Ever since Shibai Otsutsuki was introduced in the manga, fans have theorized that the Otsutsuki must have something to do with the protagonist. This is because Boruto's Otsutsufication saw him manifest a horn similar to Shibai Otsutsuki's horns.

This did not make sense as a vessel is supposed to have a horn similar to that of its Otsutsuki. This is evident from the fact that Kawaki's Otsutsukification horn resembled Isshiki Otsutsuki's horn. However, that isn't the case for the protagonist as his horn did not look similar to that of Momoshiki but Shibai.

Hence, unless just a style choice made by the creators, the protagonist has something to do with the Otsutsuki that attained Godhood. While one would be led to wonder that Boruto is a vessel to two Otsutsukis, that cannot be the case as Momoshiki would have come to learn the existence of another Otsutsuki amid him by now.

This suggests that the protagonist's connection with Shibai Otsutsuki could be very different. If fans remember, the Naruto anime explained how Indra was reincarnated as Madara Uchiha and Sasuke Uchiha, and Ashura was reincarnated as Hashirama Senju and Naruto Uzumaki. This proves that reincarnation does exist in the Naruto franchise.

Similarly, there is a possibility that Shibai Otsutsuki must have reincarnated as Boruto. With the manga yet to explain Jogan, this possible development could have something to do with the dojutsu.

While, given the lack of information, one may question this reincarnation, the answer to this could be related to Shibai's ascendence to Godhood. Following this, he must have wanted to accomplish a certain task that required him to descend on Earth. Hence, he must have reincarnated as the protagonist planning to remain dormant until the time arrives.

If such a development gets confirmed by the manga, it won't be long before Shibai Otsutsuki becomes active within the protagonist and takes over him. Such a situation is bound to spell doom for Momoshiki as the chances of an Otsutsuki God wanting to share a body with a mortal Otsutsuki might be really low. Thus, Boruto's existence as Shibai Otsutsuki's reincarnation could spell doom for Momoshiki Otsutsuki.
