Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 14: Mitsuki rescues Boruto
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 14, titled 'Duty,' opened with Boruto waking up in an interrogation room as Konohamaru informed him about the sealing jutsu cuffs. No matter what trick Boruto tried, it would be useless. Hence, he complied, but first asked his former teacher about the allies and foes. While there were some casualties, the targets Sarada and Himawari and the Ino-Shika-Cho team were safe. As for the enemies, they had fled the village.
Elsewhere, Sakura Haruno was healing Inojin. As for Eida, Daemon, and Kawaki, they were wondering what would happen if Boruto were to reveal the truth about Omnipotence to everyone.
As for the interrogation, Boruto revealed everything he knew about the Shinju. They were Divine Trees who had acquired self-consciousness and were going after their targets to acquire knowledge. Hidari's base model was Sasuke Uchiha and Matsuri's base model was Matsuri. Boruto even informed Konohamaru that Matsuri was after him. As for Jura, he was seemingly not modeled after anyone as he was the incarnation of the Ten Tails itself.
With that, Boruto declared that if they were to succeed at defeating the Divine Trees, the planet would stop being in danger. Unfortunately, Konohamaru could not accept Boruto's intel at face value as he needed an information source. Unfortunately, Boruto could not reveal the same to protect Kashin Koji.
This did not sit well with the Konoha elders as they started to threaten him. They were especially keen on learning why Boruto killed Naruto Uzumaki. In response, Boruto revealed that the Seventh Hokage and his wife were alive and somewhere safe. That's when Ibiki started to make his move as he had been itching to beat up Boruto ever since he heard about Naruto's death.
Just then, after questioning his own memories, Shikamaru contacted Ino Yamanaka for help. However, she could not comply with her friend's request. Thus, Shikamaru opted for Mitsuki's help. For this, he suggested that Konohamaru and Ibiki make use of Mitsuki's poison to question Boruto. While Konohamaru tried to turn down the suggestion due to Mitsuki's temperament, the Hokage overruled it.
Right after, Mitsuki entered the interrogation following a short conversation with Shikamaru. Just as Konohamaru expected, upon provocation, Mitsuki attacked Boruto. In that pretense, he used one of his snakes to unlock Boruto's cuffs, setting him free.
Additionally, he also informed the whereabouts of his belongings. Upon being presented with the opportunity, Boruto fled the room. But, before he left, he informed the Konoha Shinobi that he did not view them as enemies. Soon after, Boruto collected his gear and left the village.
Konohamaru suspected that Mitsuki helped Boruto; however, the only ones to possess the security code for the cuffs were himself, Ibiki, and Shikamaru. It was then revealed that Shikamaru had handed the same to Mitsuki before he entered the room.
Later, when Shikamaru Nara was in the Hokage's office, Sarada Uchiha and Sumire Kakei burst in asking him about Boruto's interrogation. In response, Shikamaru informed them that he had fled the village.
Just then, Shikamaru received a transmission from Kankuro. The Hidden Sand Village had seemingly been attacked and Kazekage Gaara and his adopted son Shinki were both defeated. While both of them were alive, Shinki had turned into a tree. Thus, Kankuro requested Konoha's help. Elsewhere, the fifth Shinju finally woke up and was named "Ryu." With this, it was confirmed that Ryu's base model was Shinki.
