Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 14 was released on September 21, 2024. Although the chapter majorly focused on the interrogation of the protagonist after he was caught, there was detail in the chapter that yet again proved the terror of Eida's Omnipotence, the shinjutsu technique of the Otsutsuki God Shibai Otsutsuki.

Before the interrogation began, a flashback revealed Shikamaru advising the protagonist to take the blame for killing the Seventh Hokage because someone's effect was in favor of Kawaki, who was protecting him.

Even though the fandom is aware that this someone is Eida, Shikamaru being unconsciously aware that someone is messing with his memories shows how terrifying the Omnipotence technique is, such that the user, despite being aware, cannot pinpoint what is happening to them.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 14 showcased the protagonist revealing the truth about the Shinju to the village leaders and Konohamaru, though he didn't reveal his source, Kashin Koji. However, after being asked about the situation with the Seventh Hokage, the chapter went into a brief flashback.

In this flashback, Shikamaru and the protagonist were having the same conversation, and the former requested the latter to take the blame for killing Seventh Hokage because the power of '_' was with Kawaki. The protagonist complied and said that it was not like he had any other choice.

Returning to the present, Shikamaru realized how he talked about someone's powers, but he wasn't aware of who that person was. Moreover, he questioned why he found the protagonist so trustworthy, even though the rest of the village was against him.

Surprisingly, he even considered the protagonist the true son of the Seventh Hokage and decided that he would not let him die in any scenario. In summary, the fandom saw Shikamaru's memories unfolding right before their eyes.

Although this was a display of how strong his mind was, this was also an indication of how strong the Omnipotence Technique is. As revealed earlier, this technique stems from the Otsutsuki God, Shibai Otsutsuki, just like the other techniques Daemon, Kashin Koji, and some other artificial humans have.

Even though Shikamaru is close to unraveling the truth of Omnipotence, this only sets a standard of how strong this technique is, such that a person with such a strong mentality was able to break the system. However, he is yet to break it completely, and there is no telling how long it would take for him to do so.

Shikamaru's mentality as a village leader was also hinted at the start of Eida's arrival, when everyone was affected by her charms and fell head over heels for her. However, Shikamaru tried to resist her charms at that time, showing how he was something different and the true successor of Naruto Uzumaki as a Hokage.
