Boruto and Vinland Saga are currently two of the most followed and discussed series after Jujutsu Kaisen. Since its anime debut in 2020, Jujutsu Kaisen has been one of the most popular manga series. But its recent ending, including numerous unfulfilled teases of Gojo's return and part 2, has left many fans dissatisfied.
While some still believe the ending is decent, the majority of the fandom considers it one of the worst endings in recent years. Although Chainsaw Man competes in the same segment, its writing style, combined with Fujimoto's unpredictability, has already reassured fans that it won’t have a bad ending.
All of this has led the fandom to turn their hopes toward Ikemoto's series and Vinland Saga for a satisfying conclusion, with some fans even claiming they would stop reading manga altogether if both of them end poorly.

Boruto, Vinland Saga might need to redeem Jujutsu Kaisen's ending
AfroSenju has been a popular YouTuber and a prominent figure within the anime and manga community for several years. Following the disappointing end of Gege Akutami's series, his statement that the endings of Ikemoto's series and Vinland Saga will determine whether he continues to read manga or not has sparked discussion in both fandoms.
Many fans have expressed their unwavering belief in their respective series, while others have taken the opportunity to voice their low expectations for Boruto.
Fan reaction to the original post
Many anime fans have expressed that putting hope in Naruto's successor series is counterproductive, as the entirety of part 1 was largely unremarkable. Others have stated that it is valid to have a negative impression of Ikemoto's series due to the trajectory of part 1, although the story has shown signs of improvement since the beginning of part 2.
"Boruto been a flop since it was announced Unc," one fan said.
"Boruto flopped on its debut but it’s been on a nice recovery streak like DragonBall Super," another fan said.
Meanwhile, Vinland Saga fans believe the series will have a good and satisfying ending. They have cited the thoroughness of Makoto Yukimura's writing and the overall quality of the story, making it unlikely to conclude poorly like Jujutsu Kaisen.
"Bro Vinland Saga will get a awesome ending trust in it," one fan wrote.
"Vinland saga can't flop,Yukimura's writing is way too thorough for It to flop," another fan wrote.
While Ikemoto's series has only recently begun the serialization of part 2, Makoto Yukimura's series is currently in its final stages. The ending of Ikemoto's series cannot yet be theorized, as the story of part 2 is still in its early development. However, there remains a possibility, however slight, that Thorfinn's journey could still end unsatisfactorily.
